It's important to get into an MTE/bubble/neutral event/etc for a few reasons:
1. multiple games in a short amount of time, which is key to get in as many games as possible in the non-con.
2. simplifies a lot of the logistics since those events will handle testing/refs/food/etc.
3. Might get us a game or two against someone other than just the drivable mid-majors in the region.
From there, fill in what we can (probably road games, why waste starting a series with a home game that you can't have fans for).
I can tell you MAAC coaches love the fact that they have hard dates on the calendar because it REALLY simplifies putting together the non-conference slate. There are a million event operators trying to put things together right now at different sites and no one has any idea when and where they are going to be able to play. Having all these dates on the calendar is so huge.

I wonder whether the originally scheduled non-conference games for 20-21 that are not played will de deferred for a year. For example, will Yale come to the TUC in 2021-22 and will we go to American as game 2 of the 4 game series (assuming we do not go there this year)?

A fair schedule and now we will wait and see what the OOC looks like probably in the next couple of weeks.

Just read on Rothstein’s twitter account that Central Florida will not playin the Hall of Fame Classic at Mohegan Sun. The other three teams are URI, Marquette and Minnesota. What an opportunity that would present! Wonder if there is any chance for us. There may not be since St. John’s will not be playing in the Pre-Season NIT in Orlando.
Also, an MTE in which LaSalle was going to play has been canceled. Assuming that the Big Five is still playing round robin, that probably does not help us.

Goodman: Siena coach Carmen Maciariello confirms to me the Saints won’t play in Orlando event due to NY state policy that they would have to quarantine for 14 days upon returning from Florida.

Iona would make more sense, matching up father and son. Something they probably wouldnt do on their owm.

Seems like it would be a dilemma for both of them. Would Minn put the pedal down if they had the chance and would the father take pleasure in beating or even coming close to the son? Seems almost like a no-win situation for both.

Rothstein has reported in the last few days that Bona, UMass and Va Tech will all play in MTE’s at Mohegan Sun. Let’s hope Siena gets announced soon.

KIt appears that the Patriot League with join the Iv league in not playing non-conference games in November and December. This news, coupled with withdawal from the Orlando Invitational (incuding the game at St. Lois as that was part of the multi-team event) means that only St. Bona and Towson remain as potential non-conference games out of the 11 originally scheduled.

Maybe a silver lining is we get some games with other regional teams in the same boat and create some new longer term relationships

Add Temple to the list of schools that will be participating in an MTE at Mohegan Sun.
Notre Dame has withdrawn from one of the MTE’s there.
And St. John’s is hosting its own MTE.
Would love to know if we have anything lined up yet.

Getting to the point where if there isn't a major announcement soon I would rather they just go to Orlando and quarantine for 14 days. Also, why were the Bills able to play at Miami week two and come back without quarantine protocol but college basketball teams are not allowed the same?
