Off topic! The Ivy League just canceled all fall sports for 2020. Note to Siena- start recruiting those athletes! đ

Potentially the MAAC could move up like 6 conference games into first semester to allow more non-conference games in January and February but sure isn't looking good. Best case now they are playing in an empty arena. If the NBA bubble bursts it is all over for college sports this winter. Outdoor sports might be different but fans at those even seem unlikely. The Trump rally causing a surge in Tulsa two weeks later might be the final nail in the coffin for sports with attendance.

My cousin played for Yale Basketball. He said the Ivy League decision is based on politics. And athletes (both past and present) are really pissed off the administrators.

Yeah, well, someone has to be the adult and do what's right for public health. It's tough for these kids to lose out on everything--education, sports, socializing, extra-curricular, etc.--but it's not worth jeopardizing their lives. Even if they don't recognize that themselves.

S77 - statistically, their lives aren't in jeopardy. For folks their age it is a minor flu if they even realize they have it. It's people my age (well more yours :-) ) who are really more at-risk.

Sorry Glen, that was last month. Younger people are getting it and it can have long lasting effects. It sucks that we have come to this but we have to respond to data not rhetoric.

It is a âmeâ culture after all.

Are some young people severely impacted? Yes. Some young people die in car accidents yet we still drive.

You donât have a option to get from one place to another without driving or using some type of transportation. You can get your college credits on line without leaving home. There is a difference. If you donât play your sport for a year and are granted another year to compete you are not disadvantaged.
