give it a break..be realistic..C7 budgets are triple that of Siena...even getting 3 mill a year in TV revenue would leave Siena millions short... sorry bucko aint gonna happen-- if anything it will be A10..and probably should get consistent in MAAC before we worry about moving anywhere

All kidding aside, I'll go ahead and disagree with you on that last part--- Siena will never be consistent as long as they are in the MAAC. The other MAAC presidents won't let that happen-- they are all about equality--- and good coaches will not continue to come to this conference given the current direction. If Siena has a chance to jump conferences such as a new A-10-- it should, asap. Otherwise, Siena will never be in these conversations again.

I hear you..and agree a bit-- but I'll say this the MAAC had nothing to do with Siena hiring Beyer/Lanier and the program wrecker. The MAAC had nothing to do with letting the program wrecker go for 3 years and complete his work..that is squarely on the Siena admin

It looks very likely the A10 will have openings..and there will still be some very good programs in A10- programs that Siena has much in common with, so I’m hoping the admin is up for a jump to that level and trust me it will be considerably stronger than the MAAC. And if Siena does leave the MAAC that is the day the MAAC becomes a low major conference

Most programs aren't "ready" when the opportunity comes. You have to take the opportunity anyways. That's how life works.

That's how life works. there is alot of truth to that, such is many things in life.......you can plan and plan and plan yet still not be ready.............would feel better about ANY move if the right coach was in place though, and that certainly isn't Mitch!!!!!!!!!!!

If C7 is a real possibility Siena would be crazy if they don't do EVERYTHING in their power to make it happen. We can debate it forever but for now I'll just share my support for making it happen.

And if Siena does leave the MAAC that is the day the MAAC becomes a low major conference With Temple heading to the Big East, Charlotte to CUSA, Xavier, Dayton, St. Louis, Butler and possibly Richmond joining the C7, and UMass a potential Big East addition, the A10 could go from it's current 16 teams down to 8: VCU LaSalle St. Joe's St. Bona Duquesne Fordham URI GWU Siena played three of these eight this season (along with UMass) and will play three again in 2013-14. Pittsburgh and Richmond are outside the MAAC's geographic footprint, but not by so much that it would not be feasible from a travel cost perspective. That having been said, if there is any way to be a part of the C7, Siena should take a hard look at how to make that happen, as the school's overall profile would be raised immeasurably by the move. Siena considers itself a national liberal arts college, not a regional one. Getting exposure to Midwest markets like St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Indianapolis would certainly seem to make that much more of a reality than it is now.

Siena should agressively pursue the C-7 opportunity. They absolutely can make it happen. If they pass on the opportunity, they will be making the same mistake Holy Cross made when it decided not to join the Big East when it was formed. Providence, St. John's, Georgetown, Villinova moved on and HC moved to the back burner.

We have the TUC, a loyal fan base and a tradition. We all need to let the administration know that we will financially support a move to the C7, with committments for season tickets and/or donations to Saints Alive.
Let's get behind this and turn a miserable year into the greatest in Siena history.

Put some Global Foundaries cash behind either option and Siena is golden. The only problem with that is UA and the Nano college would likely be their first option. The Admin has to make some type of move or UA with GF backing could surpass Siena in the Albany market. If you don't believe that you aren't looking at the big picture.
