Some of you forget what Ryan R. was like early on in his freshman year. There were three guys who sat very near me who said that they couldn't understand why they got him since he wasn't fast and couldn't jump high. I guess he showed them. I can live missing on a 6'9" kid that has a brother playing at Davidson....a 6'0" unknown from Europe that seems to have trouble with "athletic" kids pressuring him. not so accepting

Two games in - against higher conf teams. Stat-wise - he has 4 rebounds & 3 assists (to 1 TO) in 17 mins. Still contributing. Get behind him & give him time.

Not to mention everyone else on this roster has been working together throughout the summer and what GD showed up a couple of days before school started. He’s no doubt behind the others. I’m willing to give him more time especially after just 2 games. As far as I’m concerned the jury’s still out. 😐 IDK... Seems like nitpicking at this point considering the team has been playing very well as a group.

I don't think anyone's suggesting that Darwiche should be given up on. Pointing out that he's struggling so far is not a condemnation, just an observation. But it doesn't mean he won't put it together at some point in his career. I really don't expect much from most freshman - hence why people anticipate the sophomore jump. When you have new guys that blow up right away, it's definitely a pleasant surprise, not an expectation. My issue was with people blaming it on the level of competition so far. It's not that. He'll have every opportunity to make a fine PG in time once he adjusts.

Forgot it's the "everybodys great" club out here. Team has played really well. Coach has made it clear that Bayer cant play, and from the 2 games I've seen, I think Georges is in trouble. Coach has made it clear he doesnt think Kadeem is a PG, so the frosh is it. Hope he gets better and starts going north and south instead of east and west.
10 out of 12 is pretty good people. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

I don't understand your point HJ. Explain Cardinal rule of recruiting. If you miss, miss big/tall.

I don't understand your point HJ. Explain Cardinal rule of recruiting. If you miss, miss big/tall. While I agree with this- I will also say coach was hired in May- players were leaving, transferring out. We needed players desperately, so why not take a few chances. I have no problem with the Bayer situation, one and done is fine. Georges has clearly struggled the first two games running the offense. He is having problems penetrating against D1 caliber athletes. I’m certainly not writing him off two games into his college career. But let’s not pretend he hasn’t struggled with speed and athleticism of D1 hoops. I’m not prepared to say JC ‘missed” on Georges, the jury is still out, but even if he did miss, I don’t blame him given the circumstances – remember Fran took a chance on Joao Bragga when he was in similar situation needing players- and again at this point I’m not putting Darwiche in same category as Bragga- just pointing out while I agree with miss “big” in recruiting, that is a general rule, sometimes when you take over a decimated roster in May, you are forced to take a few chances to fill out your roster

It is WAY too early to either anoint anybody or count anybody out.

Eight years of pathetic basketball, and FIVE long years of possibly one the worst coached / administered/ recruited Siena programs I’ve ever seen.... I just don’t see the point of looking for negatives after 2 games. We finally have a coach who looks like he knows what the hell he’s doing, l couldn’t be more excited at the possibilities.
For me, I’m just keeping expectations in check. All I’m looking for is steady improvement. JC has taken over a program that was at an an all-time low. It’ll get straightened out, but not in a season. There’s gonna be a lot of up’s and down’s this year. Best to keep an even-keel.
Look.. Not every scholarship player is going to be all MAAC or even serviceable. It doesn’t work that way. Players will be given a chance to prove their worth. There will always be a couple of scholarship players at the end of the bench. Some are practice players. Some are recruited over. It’s just the way it works.

I get it that we all have different opinions/view points but I just don’t see it as bad as others when it comes to GD’s play the first couple of games. If by the first 2 or 3 games into MAAC play people don’t see noticeable improvement then maybe I could see the negative comparisons (not that I’ll like those negative comments then either but I could understand your view point better by then).

I'm not nitpicking. I'm stating my opinion on players that are on our new roster. Trust me, being down on the back-up PG is no big deal. JC has done a great job....across the board. It's funny how it only takes people 2 games to see that Pickett is our best player, but when I say this kid will struggle after seeing him 2 games, "it's way too early!" Lmao
