\ Totally agree with this. I think we are a top 3 team. Wow that would be something...top 3 would be tough but I hope you're right! I'exponenti Here's my thoughts; Degnan, Fisher and Smithen have been through collegiate basketball hell. This is their last chance not only to play collegiate basketball but it is highly unlikely that any of them will be playing after. I'm willing to bet that they are going to give everything they have this year. I am also willing to bet that they have the respect of the rest of the team because they are really good young men. I get the talent level thing....but you can't measure heart. That combined with solid game plans to dismantle the opposition can go a long way. What some think we lack in floor talent, my opinion is that we have exponentially improved in sideline talent, and the coaching component is going to be a huge piece of the puzzle.

I'll be happy with 10 wins. I like what I saw Vs PC, but this team is rather slow up front, and guard play will probably be spotty this year. Team will be fun to watch and grow. I'd love to see top 3 MAAC finish-- and hey who knows, but as the old saying goes, I could be wrong but I doubt it.

The analysis on here of the team and individual players after 1 game (against a very talented Big East team), under a new head coach, with so many new players, running a completely new system is comical. Give it time folks. It is a very long season. This team will be OK this year with some more games and experience together. Players will improve over time. To much new to be judging and evaluating at this point.
I will say that last year's team loses this game by 20+.
Go Saints. Go Mayhem.

Only one game and I think everyone was pleased with the effort and execution of the game plan. My biggest concern is keeping Pickett out of foul trouble. He's easily our most valuable player and a guy we don't really have an answer for him off the bench. Let's just say I was expecting a lot more from George's and Bayer. Those two were disappointing.

I agree on Georges but Bayer didn’t play. Or is that your disappointment, he hasn’t shown enough to the staff to get in a game?

I don't know what it is with Bayer not playing but watching the first game, I'm not worried about Darwiche. I think it was first game jitters/level of competition, trying to hard etc. He started to settle down a little (even beat his man off the dribble) I saw some of the things his videos showed and see him being a serviceable backup with Kadeem

He couldn't generate any offense because he couldn't get by his man. This isnt Europe. Superior athletes will be covering him on a regular basis, and it was evident it bothered him. Bayer got minutes at Syracuse, but cant crack our top ten? THAT is demoralizing. Was hoping he'd offer more as a bridge into JC's first real recruiting class.

Bayer had that incredible 6 minute spurt in the Michigan State game but other than that his only meaningful time was in the first half of the Wake Forest game where he played 4 minutes after Dolezaj picked up two quick fouls. 7 other minutes the rest of his entire career.

Would rather have that scholarship to give next season with a full year of recruiting than a rush scholarship on a kid just to get someone in there.

\ Totally agree with this. I think we are a top 3 team. Andy agreed with you; he made that same statement during the post game show. A.J. Questioned him and Andy repeated it. I would not be surprised if we actually fining there and/or win some games in the MAAC Tournament.

I truly don’t want to be a “Debbie downer”, but I think we are getting way ahead of ourselves. This is a team that lost its top five players off of an eight win team from last year with a very short time frame to fill gaps with late recruiting. Good coaching and a plan can go a long ways ( and has already) but the deficit we have in the areas of talent and speed as well as the late loss of our point guard will make it an uphill battle this year. I am really looking forward to watching and supporting this team, and I think this will be an exciting year as we progress, however, I am not expecting much success as measured by the number of wins. However, I would really love to be proven wrong! Go Saints!

I don't have a set number of them but it will more than last year. Coaching is such an important factor in college basketball. We will win games like tonight as an underdog and lose some that we shouldn't. There will be ups and downs but this team will be competitive. They have leadership for the first time in 8 years with a coach that has a winning system. When Jamion adds more horses we'll really win big IMO.
