Now that JP has gone he most likely took any kind of UA connection that the basketball program had. JC also had under armour at MSM so maybe he has some kind of relationship with them. Most of the current roster and recent transfers all play for UA sponsor HS teams but also AAU programs. I know how weird it may sound to some and the difference in brands mean little to most the fanbase but no one wears UA shoes once the games are over and the preference would always be Nike. This also may help recuiting with a switch to Nike as a closer connection to EYBL which is a Nike league. With how close JP was to the company is it something the school and program just want a complete clean slate?

I don’t know about any of this but no one in my family will ever step in an under armour shoe, especially after watching them slide all over the court these past 5 seasons.

I am told that Nike money supports the City Rocks and it is the root of our negative relationship. Shoe money rules

Players follow that money or should i say ... players are pushed toward that money. You want a city rock relationship? you will be on much better footing with Nike.

Jimmy is now working for Under Armour selling to schools so that is dead. He left area immediately and is back in Baltimore/DC area. He may also have a ESPN radio gig

I understand that UA has done very well for many Siena teams. But I am also told that Nike tells City Rocks where a recriut can go. Money talks

It does make for a convenient excuse as to why JP and staff struggled developing a relationship with City Rocks.

First of all, pretty slimy for an AAU coach to use his influence to limit the schools a player might attend. That said, I assume that this relationship mostly provides shoes (maybe apparel) for the players on the team. I guess I would ask if that is worth being limited to the players you might be able to sign. What if we had NO contract?
