OK, so why is it the Pete has the stones to beat the crap out of Will Brown in an article on Sunday but can't find anything to say about Mitch other than that he has to put up with nameless, faceless critics?
He took Will and the UA team to the woodshed in that article. Note that I don't disagree with his position. Will's had more than enough time to have a great program and they're still at best #4 in the conference. I don't think Will Brown is a good coach. I don't think UA is that good. They beat Washington but I watched Washington play a few weeks later and they SUCKED - BCS or not. I digress...
On paper UA isn't that bad (record is OK) but Pete dug into the numbers and found that they hadn't beaten a top-tier conference team in a bit. OK, so why is it Pete can't put his analytical skills to use when talking about Siena and Mitch? The TV had a stat that Mitch is (now) 32-51 in his 2.5 years at Siena. WHAAAAT? Pete - you don't even have to dig to tear that number apart. Of our 5 wins this season, only 1 is against a winning team I believe. Clearly Pete has it in him to unload on a coach who deserves it. Why not Mitch? Is the administration blocking it?
On the flip side, I'll point out to all those critical of the admin that we're in year 3 and Mitch will (hopefully) be gone. Marist's guy is on year 5. Will Brown is on year what-10 or something? Sometimes being awful is OK.

He did it because Will Brown wouldn't answer Tim Wilkin's question regarding whether or not ALbany has to be able to beat good teams to be considered good. So, I guess the moral of the story is it is an eye for an eye at the TU sports department.

Siena should always be on their toes when it comes to the moves they make -there is nothing wrong with questioning them ! One article on Mitch from his time at Fairfield would have done the job - and maybe he never lands the job at Siena! Instead we get a media that never questions anything- Pathetic !
The media luncheon ...thats a joke ! Siena just tells the media to nod their heads and wait for their blessing !

Will Brown can get testy with the press if things aren't going his way...Mitch you've got to admit while not a language master isn't nasty with reporters.

Questions the media never asked Mitch or even press him on !
With such athletic guards on this Siena team...
1. Where is the up-tempo game you promised 3 years ago ?
2. Why are you not playing more man to man ?
3. Why don't you press more ?
4. Why don't you play Marcus Hopper more ? You did recruit him to play ..right ?
5. Do you find that the team was playing un-disciplined at times this year ?

At this point it doesn't matter if the media is grilling Mitch or not. They probably understand it's over why kick him on his way out of the door.

Siena just tells the media to nod their heads and wait for their blessing ! Do you seriously believe that, or are you just venting some frustrations?

Why would the press ask Coach B anything of substance? They get the same response regardless. The opponent was very good, we played good. The zone defense was good, the opponent just made too many shots. We've played well at home all season (despite a 2-7 record). A few breaks and the game goes our way blah blah blah.
43 days and counting.

When was the last time Mitch was pressed on anything in the last 3 years ? Tell me ? Not one of the boys from the media has the guts of Mike Francesa! They dont even suggest anything..like the coach should be running the ball more ! he is not playing his guards the way he should ! Why is the team playing soo un- disciplined ? And forget about saying the term " hot seat " in any article-it's a joke !

And yet you guys sit here and question the bias that clearly exists from the TU towards UA. When the new football stadium opens...sit those f'ks in a basement with a black and white closed circuit TV.
Your idiot can't get to 10 games in three years (hyperbole) and yet they defend him. Brown goes 2-3 against your said idiot, Washington win, two season of close to+ 20 win seasons...and that moron writes that article.
Shameful hypocrisy.

I'm beginning to think Baghdad Mitch has compromising pictures of Iorizzo and Singelais

I'm beginning to think Baghdad Mitch has compromising pictures of Iorizzo and Singelais More like the TU paper name on the building in which you play in and are one of the two major tenants...wouldn't want to damage that brand/name.

I'd think the name on the building would incent them to write harsher articles as it is having a serious impact on attendance. The only thing I can think of is that since Siena does move quickly (in admin time) to resolve the problem, why pile on. UA has stuck with Brown well past his expiration date IMO.
