“Very important,” Oduro said before Wednesday’s practice. “It’s do or die right now, so we’re going to fight on Friday.” Head coach Jimmy Patsos? There’s no such thing, he said, as a true must-win game before March for a MAAC program. Gazette Article Here

It's a must win game for team moral...for team cohesiveness...a desire to go on et all...but Jimmy doesn't understand things like that...

He just does not have the correct approach to Siena basketball, and no amount of “educating” Siena fans through the media or his stooges is going to change that fact.

My god, no coach is going to call a game must-win prior to the game, because what happens if they lose. The season's over?
Every coach says the same thing, we play one game at a time and try to get better.
JP says some head scratching things, this really isn't one of them. Guarantee that if they win, he'll say is was as close to a must win game as a team can have in January.

You wouldn’t see me post a complaint about that. Instead he has to downgrade the maac and turn his whole season into nothing matters until the tournament. The fact is the statement isn’t true... every win determines seeding for the tournament, whether you get a good seed in the NCAA tournament, or get into the nit, cbi, etc. every game counts.

Big game tonight- one of 2 games left on schedule where Siena is favored ( according to sagarins predictor) other game is home vs Marist. Jimmy needs to win next two in worst way. If we go 0-2 will be almost no chance to get to 10 wins. I feel good Siena wins tonight, and prolly lose to Canisius Sunday

That's the part that spins people up. The early season doesn't count, the MAAC season doesn't count. Just 3 (or 4, with that attitude) games in March count. And then we can get "an NCAA win" ala Lanier by playing a PIG team. Sorry, but that's not what the fans expect.

How about saying something to this effect coach:
Hey at times we have stunk this year. At other times we have been pretty good. We need more of the latter and less of the former.
We certainly need to start winning a lot more games for the kids, for the program, and for the fan base.
We have some talented basketball players on this team.
I as the coach need to get better.
I need to bring that talent out in these guys. That confidence. That swag.
I need to make better game time decisions, better use of playing time, and do better scouting.
I need to create a more consistent offensive flow where every guy on the floor feels they are a weapon. I need to get these guys feeling condident that they are better than the other team, more confident in themselves where I can say less and let them just play the game within the framework of our game plan.
If I as the coach can get better at that, I feel confident that these kids will get it. That we will get on a roll starting tonight where we will start winning a lot more games.
As long as backs it up with actions, aying something like this would go a long way in the locker room and within the fan base.

This I agree with. Do I think it's a must win game ... no. But it is pretty damn close to one. (I can say that, I'm not the coach) Niagara has the best two individual players in the game plus a couple of decent (if inconsistent) pieces in Prochet and Robb. Siena's best player is not playing like it right now. Their second best player (coming into the season) is coming off a last second fail. This is another game where our freshman backcourt will be playing against a seasoned and talented backcourt. I hate to say it but I don't see the Saints winning tonight. Hope I'm wrong.

I hate to say it but I don't see the Saints winning tonight. Bite your tongue!! Niagara has a RPI of 220, are 0-2 in MAAC. We are at home, are you saying 5 years into So-so Jimbo's tenure you fear Siena will lose at home to A team tied for last place in MAAC ..No way I go with Siena winning this!!!
