Thought when we got to OT it was big advantage us. I believe Iona didn’t miss a shot in OT and had to be over 90% from the FT line. It was kind of a microcosm of the season- we where defficient in one or two areas many games and it cost us several W’s. The kids left it all on the court and I was proud of how they battled back every time Iona put a run on them. Thank you seniors for your hard work and dedication the last four years and good luck in the next chapter of your journey.

Don't know how much of a factor that was.... it was a game of runs. Had we made our FT we win in regulation. 'Quis should have taken the last shot...Nico hit his first and was ice cold. I get going for the win there but probably should have called a timeout. Just a brutal loss..... Yea I mean a 10 point swing in a game means nothing if it happens in the first half. Actually it was a 17-1 run from 11:19-6:07 of the first half. We were up 23-15, and then 5 min later we were down 32-24. Fisher was only in for 2 min of it. Hardly to blame for the loss. Missing 9 FT's in the first half cost us the game. Wright played great, but had a HUGE TO with :48 left in regulation. He also passed up a great match up on a switch with :10 left in OT. He had Washington on him, and could have pulled for an easy 3 once he moved him. He passed it up for Nico, who was as bad tonight, as he was good last night.

Thanks Fisher- up 8 with the ball in the first half....he checks in then we are down 2. During which time they hit 2 threes and a long 2.. I would blame the guy protecting the rim for that also. And I am not sure they all even occurred during the minute and a half he was in.

Thanks Fisher- up 8 with the ball in the first half....he checks in then we are down 2. This is so over the line. Couldn't be prouder of these kids, ALL OF THEM, for the effort and results; even given the crushing heartbreaking end to our senior's Siena careers. It's easy to go back and pick a missed FT, a TO or a bad shot and play the 'only if' game. Had any, yes ANY play had a different outcome, the ones following it would be different as well and forecasting that unknowable future is ridiculous! Our kids were hurt, tired and yet they gave more than their all. We would all have understood had they come out after the Sunday win and laid an egg on Monday night. Absent the final result, it was, IMO, one of the best, hardest fought set of games by any Siena team. I doubt any ESPN viewers switched our games off before their dramatic finishes - the games were that good.

As fans just be proud of them today wish them luck for the future, tomorrow break everything down, just enjoy their play today.

Great game last night. Well played, exciting and dramatic. Hate watching the guy but Washington was too good late and in overtime. Siena was grinding all night long (after the quick start) but just was not able to get the stop and scored on exactly 1 less possession than Iona in overtime.
As a fan, I am heartbroken this morning but that does not mean I can't appreciate the game itself. It was a beauty.
I guess you can point to miss free throws as the reason for the loss but they cleaned it up late and hit them when it mattered. After Saturday night, who wouldn't have wanted a 3 from Nico with 2 seconds left for a chance to win? Despite his shooting woes, I expected him to hit the bottom of the net. Iona did something Monmouth didn't, they made him shoot on the move.

If any fan is still heartbroken the all tourney team selection MAY offer some mild relief. Four Indians chosen for their efforts.

Thanks - very well deserved by all four. The honor won't completely dispel the sadness but it will mitigate it somewhat.

Last night was the first time this season there was a real college basketball atmosphere at the TUC. Noise level was great .Spectators standing long before crunch time. Bands allowed to play. Cheer/Dance teams allowed to frequently go out on floor as they were allowed throughout the weekend. Please sponsors and Siena administration figure out a way to plug your businesses without constant P A commercials and ridiculous contests on the floor preventing a college basketball atmosphere from happening during the regular season. Such an atmosphere and doing away with live TV coverage would increase attendance greatly. One low light from last night . Iona had three guys dressed in red skin tight head to toe costumes(Spider Man like). I don't know if they were alums or students . From a distance I didn't see any problem. However, walking up from the basement men's room with one of them coming down the stairs the guy's junk stuck out in an obscene manner for all to see. Another example of classless Iona.

Good post - loved the transition to the movie "The Junkman Cometh" pun intended😎
