Nico played more like he did last year than he was playing earlier this year. He didn't force things, played with energy and was active on both ends of the court. When he plays like this, he makes the team better.
Cluess has it right, whether or not it was a good decision to bring him back is yet to be determined. Easy to be a team player when things are going well. Question is how he (and the team) deals with adversity going forward.

Remember people. Les' not forget.
As much as Nico's presence in being there as the "old" Nico (as just a Sophomore), was the difference maker in getting this win, it was our Senior leader "Point Guard" (yes, point guard Coach) in 'Quis who scored the last 9 out of 13 points in crunch time. This included the two for two clutch free throws that led us to the promise land in the closing moments of that game.
Was it his assist on the Shivers shot?
He also had 9 assists with only like three turnovers(big one at the end almost cost us) in what was a great second half for him. Playing with confidence. Playing with the ball in his hands. Wanting the ball in his hands. Not afraid of the moment. Relishing the moment. Playing with confidence.
Confidence. Confidence. Confidence.
I think if Coach stops messing with him and just let's him from here on out be what he was recruited to be in putting the ball in his hands and trusting him in being our Senior leading point guard to make good decisions, we will be fine.
Having a point guard who can both score in a variety of ways and dish with few turnovers, makes us that much harder a team to defend, that much better a team as a whole, and gives us that much better a chance of getting to the big dance.
Glad to have the old 'Quis back, playing along side the old Nico.
Let's not let up now that we got both your mojo''s back. You both make everyone else on that team better when you both bring it on a game in and game out basis.
Send a message to Monmouth and crush Marist this Saturday. Go Saints!

18 of 19 from the line 41.2% from three Outrebounded Iona by 16 Iona, a team that almost shoots 3's at a 40% clip on the season, only shoots 27% from deep Siena wins by 2. The margin of error for this team is quite thin...but it was nice to see the band back together.

One has to be impressed by the plethora of guards that Iona has on its roster. They're really deep. Siena certainly doesn't have the kind of developed depth in the backcourt that Iona possesses. Our front court is going to have to be more consistent in their play. JO certainly stepped up last night. Brett has to get back to his All-League level and the subs particularly Sammy have to really step up if we're going to make any noise in the next three weeks.

and just like that everything is right with the world again LOLOL. Not necessarily, but definitely a very good win considering they dug themselves out of a 13 pt hole.

Thanks for the links. The quote I am still smiling about is when Cluess was talking about our coach: "He always likes to come to New York fully loaded."

On the other hand, with the operation that Coach Cluess runs down in New Rochelle, he shouldn't be throwing zingers at anybody.

Thinking that the ideal scenario for the MAAC Tourney would be to wind up in a tie for 2nd with Canisius. Would love one more shot at Canisius this year and am much more confident in beating them than in beating Iona again. Would be fantastic to go into the tourney knowing we only need one win over Monmouth/Iona.

That is the quote - - to put it in context, Cluess said it in reference to the return of Nico, but I just got quite a smile out of it.

It was great to see him knock them down, like Marc brown back in the day on a much bigger stage. If he and nico can coexist at the 1 and 2 while keeping o, long and bisping productive on the court no reason why they can't win the maac tourney. A lot of ifs but a nice thought on this day.

Don't know how realistic it is would be Siena/Canisius finishing 2-3 (obviously Siena 2nd would be better with a day off between quarters/semis) and Iona falling to 4th and SPU to 5th meaning Siena would only have to beat one of Iona/Monmouth/SPU to win the championship. I agree Canisius is good but I would rather face them over Monmouth, Iona and SPU.
