Thinking that the ideal scenario for the MAAC Tourney would be to wind up in a tie for 2nd with Canisius. Would love one more shot at Canisius this year and am much more confident in beating them than in beating Iona again. Would be fantastic to go into the tourney knowing we only need one win over Monmouth/Iona. Don't know how realistic it is would be Siena/Canisius finishing 2-3 (obviously Siena 2nd would be better with a day off between quarters/semis) and Iona falling to 4th and SPU to 5th meaning Siena would only have to beat one of Iona/Monmouth/SPU to win the championship. I agree Canisius is good but I would rather face them over Monmouth, Iona and SPU. . I would rather face spc didn't we beat them once and lost to can twice? Let Iona Monmouth knock each other off in the semis.

Canisius is good but they don't play defense and don't profile IMO as a really good tournament team. Also they haven't made the MAAC championship since 2000. Plus tough to beat a team three times and again at the TUC (both games were close too) If we get them in the semifinals I'll sign for Canisius now.

Iona meanwhile has to go to Niagara on Sunday and then Canisius on Tuesday. Good shot that Canisius can win that one. Every other game left for Canisius is very winnable, their last two games was the tough stretch and they won them both.

Where are all the Jimmy bashers now? If you are going to crucify him for the losses, be man enough to give him credit for the wins. And this was a big win. He took a chance bringing Nico back and for this game it worked. This team is still game to game. If the 4 seniors, Nico and someone off the bench all play a strong game they can beat any team in the MAAC. This makes for an interesting rest of the season and MAAC. Hold on for the rollercoaster ride. Go Saints!

Like I posted last night - its amazing what a good game the Saints had with Nico in the game and SnOwSnOwflake sitting his arse on the bench.

One time he was up a refund had to run up his assistant to get up the court, could should have been Tree for being on the court,he got lucky. Problem with many of the one gamers they see only what they want, actually miss the game.

Have to agree with hoop dad on this one.
There are so many haters on this board.
I agree. Jimmy may not be the best game time coach in the world or the best recruiter, but at least for last night, you have to give him his due.
Hopefully he can build on this as being a better game time coach just as the players can build on it as being better and more confident players.
At least last night Coach had these guys ready to play, even more so in the second half.
Nico not only played, but more importantly, he played like the Nico of old.
Each of the four seniors all played well, at least in major stretches of the game.
And a feshmen not only made a play and foul shot late, it was a 3 pt shot without hesitation that he made.
He played up tempo. They scored over 80 points. They shot 3's. They rebounded.
They won. So give the guy a break.
Good job Jimmy.
All these things point to one thing, and that is that coach is hopefully, finally, learning, that giving up some of his control and trusting in the players more, is a good thing for the success of this team moving forward this year.
No, it's a great thing.
If he beats Marist on Saturday as he better do, including with two layed eggs at home, he still will have gone 8-3 in his last 11. Not bad after a shaky start.
If he can finish the season (after Saturdays win) going 4-1, he will have gone 12-4 in his final 16 league games, and will be one of the hottest teams going into the MAAC Tournament.
Many of you may not be quite ready right now to support coach.
But if this team goes 5-1 in their last 6, hopefully all the haters on this board will begin to jump on the bandwagon. It's never too late.
Just start supporting this coach and this team at least for this year. They just might be the first Siena team to get to Big Dance in 7 years. Go Saints!

Winning a MAAC title would get Jimmy some good will but it won't erase everything. We mailed in the OOC schedule sure they were good opponents but outside of Kansas none of them were killer games. Thus we'd likely get an unwinnable NCAA game (unless we went to Dayton). The home schedule was not good. Too many mistakes on the recruiting trail and too much drama overall. I think our starters are good enough to win the MAAC championship at home but we have a light bench and that could doom us if we get to Monday night. But we have a puncher's chance if we shoot decently and get a few breaks.

He did however use Nico well and for that I'll give him credit. I have a hard time taking the we're family line seriously though. Come on JP you've cast off more than your fair share of kids. Wasn't worried about family then. Nico just makes the family portrait look a lot better.

Plenty of kids have transferred and unless I missed something none of them have trashed Jimmy on the way out or said they were forced out of the program. Talking to a kid that is part of the program and telling him that if he sticks around he's not going to get a lot of playing time and he might want to consider going somewhere else fits in with the family aspect. Just kicking a kid off the team for not being good enough is very different.

There's 2 types of fans on transfers: HATE Jimmy: "He runs them all off" DON'T HATE Jimmy: "Transfers happen everywhere, all the time." Now I've disagreed on how he's used kids (LaRose) and they left for more playing time, but 75% of them leave because they see they wont get minutes here (White, Wolf). Others have BIG EYES and think they can go to a higher level (Wormley), and some are just discipline problems (Cole). It is what it is.

Does WB sitting on the bench while Fisher plays not qualify as running someone out...

Yes, telling a kid they have a better opportunity elsewhere but are free to stick around is very different than revoking the scholarship.

Playing Fisher over Friday has been the real crime, Brandwijk has been almost as bad as Fisher in his time this year and I doubt he has any more success after Siena than Wolfe has, another guy that everyone thought was so much better than he is.
