Yes, I agree Jimmy has plenty to work on but you also have to remember a few things before we go ripping everything about the guy.
Always thinking there are greener pastures on the other side of that hill does not mean there actually are greener pastures on the other side of that hill?
Changing coaches again does not guarantee another Fran, or Paul, or Mike, or John.
It does guarantee that we are a program still in transition for another two to three years though.
I say stay with Jimmy and be patient. At least wait until the next 7 to 9 games before making any final judgements.
Remember how bad Will Brown did at Albany for a number of years. With three NCAA Tournament appearances in a row now, people over there love the guy.
What we all originally thought that losing at home to Morehead St. last year in the CBI opening round as being such a very bad loss to an inferior team from an inferior conference, ended up being a loss to the team that got to the finals of the CBI.
We may have not known it at the time but we came up against a very quick athletic team that was hitting its stride at the right time.
Yet, as bad as we may have played in different parts of that game, if there were a few different bad calls at the end of that game that should have gone our way but didn't, we still may have won that game?
There were other quality mid major teams such as A-10 Member Duquesne who also lost to Morehead St. in the CBI, and Vermont whose head coach get's many kudos on this board, that also lost in this very same tournament.
So possibly that loss was not so bad a loss as it was first viewed to be?
I think if we are just patient until this season's end results come in, and if these end results get us to the Big Dance as I think we will now have a legitimate chance at doing, the returning players, Nico included, will all have the confidence to building on that taste of success and be successful as a team next season moving forward with Jimmy?
Here is a Vote of Confidence for keeping Jimmy.
