If the Saints shoot well they are tough to beat. But there lies the rub, which team/players will show up in New Rochelle.
Richard is doubtful as he did not practice. Siena started out as 7 point underdogs.
A Saints loss and it's a log jam for spot number 5 in the MAAC standings. Quinny and Fairfield play on Thursday.
Hoping things click for the Saints tonight, the game is on ESPN3.

Siena has played particularly well at TUC-South over the yrs and won some games.............though it is hard to imagine the game plan is up to snuff for tonight's tilt, coach couldn't figure out that man defense was not the way to slow down Iona the last time they played...............who knows how we play tonight, come out with a slow start and just say goodnight........................a double digit 15-20pt loss for us would not be a shocker in the least...............

I wish Siena would suspend Patsos for the ejection the other night. Give Manning a shot, I bet he would play a zone.

Iona currently clustered right in with Florida Gulf Coast and UNC-Asheville in KenPom - similar records, similar predictive rankings - I'd project a similar outcome. Hope I'm wrong.

We played Zone second half vs Iona- and Gals big guards shot right over our tiny guards Quis and Richards- our only chance is Iona has a poor shooting night. Pay attention to Iona, I'm sure they will play zone with 1 guy on ball and 4 other guys with one foot in paint- unless we hit some shots outside paint- we stand no chance. We just dont have enough talent to compete with better teams in MAAC or AE for that matter. Having said that it's not like we are playing North Carolina. If we shoot well and Iona shoots bad- we have a chance..LOL

Please... go back and watch tape- we played a considerable amount of zone second half. We can agree to disagree-- makes me wonder about some of you guys

1.) That box and 1 zone has really crappy rotation. I don't want that long term.
2.) I'm not sure they played as much zone as you remember in the 2nd half. I'd have to go back and look. However, if you were 100% right about the zone in the 2nd half, Iona only shot 37% overall in that half and 54.5% in the first half. So, ok, it would still prove the point that it's better.
They only gave up 4-13 (30.7%) shooting from pt land in the 2nd half and gave up 14/24 (58.3%) in the 1st half when I fully remember they were playing man.
Iona shot over 40% from 3 in both halves. If you're gonna lose to Iona make it from three...not from 2.

Let's go SAINTS!
"Anytime you want to consider yourself one of the better teams in the league you have to win on the road. It's one thing to say, 'Yeah, we're playing well on the road,' and, 'Yeah, we're competing on the road.' But ultimately, you have to win." - Fran McCaffery

no we didn't, maybe 2 possessions we went zone, that was it........................... Please... go back and watch tape- we played a considerable amount of zone second half. We can agree to disagree-- makes me wonder about some of you guys dude, you are barking up the wrong tree............and I did watch it when I got home again that night, because I was so pissed at JP, couldn't believe he would be that stupid/stubborn to continually play man against faster quicker athletes, just dumb...........and at that, he pulled a few possessions in 2nd half where he tried it, but we got caught on 2 quick ball rotations where big guys underneath weren't quick enough to close out on corner 3 pointers.........however, you might be referring to 2 very long 3's that Iona did knock down that were as you say over our smaller guards but those were really deep even well beyond NBA range, and sorry if any player is gonna launch way out there, then go ahead, I like our pct on that as they won't hit them at a high rate, so it wasn't poor zone defense or short players in that regard..................no one is saying our zone is the best around or that it would have caused us to win........but sure as shit know that we have NO CHANCE by playing man in that game vs. Iona, none..........take your chances with the zone, as we won't out score them in a track meet, maybe they shoot poorer shots, helps us rebound better and as prominently keeps our players hopefully out of foul trouble.........nuff said..............KK take over...............

I didnt say man to man would be better--- and I'm not advocating for it. Just saying playing zone is no sure thing. Jimmy plays several different variations of the zone, so you really need to keep your eyes open. Richards 5'9" and Quis 5'10" are small--Iona's guards are all in 6'3" to 6'6" range big. Seriously our guards looked like midgets compared to Iona's. Last year we had Oliver- Nico - Wormley all big guards to play zone

Not sure how I feel about that- no denying his talent- if he "buys" in he can really help, if not-- our record stunk with him playing
