Don't read the thread, it that's simple, I believe the title was pretty self explanatory. So if you're not amused don't venture in..... BTW I think discussing potential coaching options is well within reason given Rex's sub-par performance thus far!

Yes - But if he has a contract thru 2021 (4 seasons after this), this thread could be moot and may only cause more frustration. A more appropriate thread first may be a discussion of the details of that contract and at what point Siena would even think about eating the rest of it. All this said, I really hope we can do some kind of turnaround for this season. www.maacsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17400&ATCLID=210891698

The contract is merely fluff for recruits to see. Siena did this with Rob Lanier. Years are added all of the time. KnickSaint - also confirmed the buyout remained the same (he's usually very accurate with his info when he shares it here). The major question is if Siena guaranteed the additional year after winning the CBI. If they did Patsos has two years guaranteed if they did not he has one year after this season and thus is very likely to get fired. Siena has eaten one year three times already in the past 20 years and I'm sure will do so again if this ship continues to plunge into the sea. www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2014-06-18/siena-gives-head-coach-jimmy-patsos-one-year-contract - If that additional year wasn't guaranteed after the CBI he's in big trouble.

Nobody knows or is willing to share what the details are. However, in the George mason contract I saw the coach would get half if fir d before the end of the contract. There has to be some consideration or it wouldn't be a contract. All we can do is speculate (as with most topics on the board) but based on past history the team has to start winning or time is running short regardless of the length. Saints22 is right it is not a fun topic wish it wasn't relevant but unfortunately it is.

It's an open forum and this thread is about who POSTERS feel would make a good applicant. Nothing more nothing less. IMO, Rex is not going to be here another 2 years, let alone 1, you can take that to the bank. He'll be extremely lucky if he's here after the season ends. What makes you think anything is going to change. He's a horrible coach and recruiter. He's damn lucky he had Poole Hymes Oliver JO Brett left from Mitch. Also don't forget Rex recruited Wright and Long originally to Loyola. He's recruited exactly one player of note (Nico) DIRECTLY to Siena in 3+years and by the looks of it, he's transferring. Rex needs to go! I for one welcome the discussion of potential replacements. It gives me hope.

I have no problem at all discussing it. I already talked about Hewitt elsewhere. Are you saying you LIKE discussing things like this and that you never participate in a thread unless you like all parts of it?? And since it's an 'open forum', I think I am allowed to decide for myself if I want to participate. I assumed that this is not just a total fantasy thread, and as a reality-check part of it, it is fair to also discuss when something like this might come to fruition. So along those lines, what kind of info are you aware of that would make me take it to the bank that Siena would eat 4 years of a $300K+/year contract? I am really curious. And I am not calling you a JP hater or me a JP lover, believe me. If you followed the MAAC board you would know my recent posts there have not claimed that I want him back.

In turn you have not acknowledged or choose to ignore the likelihood that Siena would not be eating $1.2 million, not even close. It is not as much of a nonstarter as you apparently think. There has been plenty of info posted for you to draw a more reasonable conclusion.
