and when you complain all the time how tired your team is....the kids have a built in excuse. The same kids who grew up on AAU tourneys with many games on a weekend. Personally, I am really ready for JP to focus on FIVE things and those five thins only: Recruiting: Top Talent & Quality Individuals at the positions needed Player Development Game/Bench Coaching Development of a challenging schedule every year possible Promoting: Promote our program (not Gary Williams, Under Armor, Brian Cashman, etc.) I say again Promote our program and you could find yourself at MD or another high profile job in 4-5 years. All the rest is just noise in my book and I am ready for way more substance, less noise. Go Saints!!! Holy cow that's a big FIVE. ADD doesn't allow for that type of focus.

Maybe that's why it's a 5 year plan. One focus each year.

Spoken like a person who doesn't have a "clue" ..pay attention to the difference a coach can make King Rice is doing it this year. He just got a 5 year extension. It just took him a while to figure out how to win. You're all over the place as usual. For JP it's the players and the wins and losses are decided by them on the court, but Rice is making the difference this year. Again….typical gibberish from you.

My opinion only, after 29 games these young men, if the coach has done his job better know what they need to do to win games. That doesn't absolve the coach from having to tweak the line up or offense or defense during a game but majority should fall on players again this late in year. btw BB backs that up. Far as Rice, good guy, has a good team with a great guard no one has figured out how to stop. Since the loss of Jones the schedule has favored Monmouth with exception of Iona, in regards to that game watching Rice he had absolutely no clue what to do, just sat there. Not sure why because I respect the guy for the hear he is having.

Funny how we are looking for programs that would work for Brett in his 5th year while at the same time looking to enroll our head coach into D1 Coaching for Success 101! Talk about covering both ends of the spectrum.

Winning as the year goes by does get a little harder, teams know you better, they know your plays and their younger players have more game experience.
But what kills me, is that every time we play zone, some players are in the wrong position. Now sometimes it’s the players fault and sometimes it’s the coach’s fault. During the FF game, our coach went into a 1-3-1 at the end of the game and who is on the baseline…Wright. FF hit three’s in the corner and shot layups over the top of Wright’s head. The only time our zone worked is when the other team wasn’t hitting, it’s not because we’re in their face. Why not stay with man to man and give up a 2 instead of a 3. We’re not Syracuse. If you played ball, what defense would you rather play against? When I saw zone, I knew I was in for a big game. If you can’t beat a zone as a player, you shouldn’t be a D1 player.
Also, by now, you would think that our head coach and assistants would know basic game techniques, if you have a player with 4 fouls and it’s late in the game, and you are pressing, and you know you will be fouling, take him out of the game. Our staff didn’t, they let JO remain in the FF game and he fouled out. Now we weren’t going to win the game, but if you can’t remember such a basic coach’s action when there is no pressure….. will he remember it when we have a chance to win?
I hope both the coaches and players are ready for tomorrow’s game.

When we were in the 1-3-1 late and I saw MW "protecting the rim" I thought that would be a good photo to present to Imoh today - speaks volumes about the mental lapses of our head coach and staff - if it wasn't so sad it would be laughable - I guarantee that most, if not all, of the FF fans got a big time chuckle out of the "posterizing lay up" our head coach set up! If there ever was a time for Imoh to be on the floor this year - that was it.

do you guys have any clue why Siena was in a zone at end of FF game? We needed to score, preferably hit a 3. So Ryan Oliver was in game- Ryan struggles in man to man defense guarding quick guards, lateral quickness isn't his strength. Same scenario at end of Iona game when when MW had to come out with bleeding hand, it was Ryan who didnt get over in time to guard AJ English. I don't want to be put in position to be bad mouthing any of our players, but fact of matter is, Ryan Oliver isnt a good-- hell he isn't even average man to man defender. Jimmy was trying to play offense/defense at end of game subbing in Ryan and Kinnon, but you don't always get the stop in play to sub in
A lot to "complain" about in the FF game - but why we were in zone at end of game isn't one of them IMHO

The mismatch didn't happen as a result of a defensive switch, it was "designed". Imoh, in addition to really protecting the rim, would have been able to give some fouls to stop the clock and allow subs in and out. Like it or not, JP is not a good end of ANY game coach and that weakness was amplified with a midget, with a sore and unprotected wound on his left hand, guarding a giant IMVHO !

All of which could have been mitigated if brand wick didn't red shirt but that's debatable since patsos can't manage more than eight at a time.

Kaboom? Really? So Jimmy must be a genius after we win at Iona without Quis? Or when we throttle Rider by 20 in Marquis' first game back?
Some of you guys are comically predictable after losses.
