We need: 1) a back-up PG/sg scorer. Taplin would fill the need if he qualifies. The offer to Cam Gottfried was moronic. Another D-2 recruit a la Mitch. Too may holes to fill to waste scholarships on friends' sons.
2) we need a bouncy atheletic big. Bisping is too slow, Imoh can't score, and JO is a big disappointment so far.
Jimmy brougt a good recruiting class with him from Loyola, but so far I'm disappointed in the recruiting for next year.
All of these excuses of "young team", wait til next year, etc. are BS. The mistakes of November's games are still there.
If it weren't for Wright we would be having another bad year like last year.
I don't know if Jimmy's personality is a plus or minus ( it is worlds better than Mitch's) but at Siena's level if you can't recruit you can't win.
Manhattan turned it around with Masiello, as did Canisius with Baron.
Jimmy did a good job at Loyola, but last week's coaching and recruiting didn't give me any reason to go Wow!

I'll report it, because SaintsFan won't. Wincowski had 24 points in a big win over Bolton last night, 64-16. Michael Bolton could have scored 17 last night

Yeah HJ, but Michael's singing would have shattered a backboard

Wow, you can't see that the Team & Jimmy has turned things around so far? What Team have you been watching. Jimmy may not have turned things around as quickly as Fran but he has turned this Team around compared to past 3yrs. Agree, don't see why the offer to Cam unless he's going to be a pay your own way walk-on (which doesn't seem to be the case) but I'm not convinced that Paige is as bad as others think.

Masiello was left Beamon, Brown and Alvardo. Baron brought his ACC caliber son with him. Jimmy was left Poole and little else. I'm not saying Jimmy doesn't have his faults (i.e. the fouling situation) but the board is making him out to be the Program Wreck II. Jimmy has done a pretty good job to date...next year the pressure will be on to win 20 games. Gottfried is walking on next year...we have no idea what the agreement is. Let's wait until the off season before we go crazy on the roster.

Good point MTS. Fran even had better players to work with (Jordan, Kojo, Haddix (albeit not until 2nd season), Ryan, etc.).
Even Hewitt had future Siena Stars to begin with.
Jimmy had Poole & Hymes (no disrespect to the others). I love Imoh but he's only been playing BBall for a very short time. Love how he's progressing with so little BBall experience. Kojo, Jordan, Ryan, Haddux probably started playing in CYO.
All I'm suggesting is Siena's not as bad as everyone thinks. I think it's more that some fans maybe had higher expectations and are frustrated & taking it out on coach. JMO.

Yes I think Jimmy has actually gotten the team to play so well at times that everyone's expectations have been raised to the point where we are hugely disappointed off the past two games. People forget he took over an 8 win team who graduated their best player (OD Anosike). As good as Poole has been he's never made an all-MAAC team. The rest of the returning vets are playing very hard and are good kids but are all role players. The freshmen are good but still freshmen and won't take the next step until the offseason..doesn't matter if we've played 24 games or not. The recruiting will tell the tale.. we have to sign another guard capable of backing up Wright. Sterling Taplin would be my first choice but it doesn't have to be him. The next signing is an athletic big man. Willem Brandwijk would be the first choice but it doesn't necessarily have to be him either. Jimmy gets a completely pass on this year. He has at least done the minimum in changing the culture and introducing an uptempo style of play. Now if we go into next year with no back-up PG and no athletic big man and we struggle then Jimmy is going to feel some heat.

The over-reaction is because we should NEVER lose to St. Peters, losers of 5 in a row, right now. Very disappointing to see your leading scorer take only 2 shots in 32 minutes. That's a stat that draws attention to game fixing (just kidding, but you guys get what I mean).
We need some more help. Very specific needs, and so far after two '14 commits, we haven't addressed those needs. Getting people very antsy, and understandably so.

I like Paige if he is the 3rd best recruit and we have added the PG depth and a guy like Brandwijk

Me too, especially "the over-reaction" point. People shouldn't forget how far we've come this season. I'll stay grounded and enjoy the success so far this season. Go Saints!

I think I predicted 12 wins with this brutal schedule and limited talent. Anything over 12 wins, and we overachieved in my mind!

Yes, I should have specified recruiting from your statement. Some of us real overachievers will contine to hypothesize that with a few adjustments we could have had 2 or 3 more wins already.

I admit I don't understand the Cam offer (except if he was going to be a Walk-on for more than one yr but that doesn't sound to be the case). I don't know anything about Paige, but hope the staff know what their doing. I guess I have a different philosophy. I try not to let BBall things that I can't control not get me as upset as maybe other loyal fans. I love you guys & gals as fans & people. I guess I just don't things are that bad even with last two losses. As long as they learn & get better. Maybe I'll start to get upset when it becomes more consistent (loosing). Who am I kidding, I never saw the writing on the wall the past 2.5 yrs. it wasn't until midway thru last season that I finally saw what most of you saw before we hired Mitch. I just gave him longer to prove everyone wrong.
