Indeed. Two years and counting of better performance. Live in the now. Fran isn't here and the future is still the future. Enjoy the PIG. The PIG is a real possibility this year for Siena. Fortunately it will be the last for the foreseeable future. Canisius without Baron is destined to the pig for what will seem an eternity for you.. Enjoy the PIGS!

So no facts, all projection and lame attempts at out downs. Classic Tony. I'll be banned here before too long. There is very little need for reality on this board. No facts? Where the eff are your facts? You come here saying all this shit about hearsay from all your major connections. Tony provided a link showing taplin rose 10 spots after aau. That is a fact. Espn has him rated at a 77 3 star recruit and 39th best pg in 2014. Fact. You can say canisus backed off but until you have proof you just look like the normal angry troll you are. Enjoy this season it will be your last okay season for along time unless barons got another kid ready to go. More facts

It means you're gonna suck! How many NCAA post season wins since the 50's? You're too funny. This is funnier! GG read this again.

It is difficult to fathom how I might know a few scouts and know people at the Canisius program? That's such a stretch? Lol. Enjoy Taplin should he sign. I'll enjoy that as much as I am when I called Long a mediocre player and seeing that come to fruition. I won't get into a pissing match over who or what you know - I couldn't care less. But I will take issue with calling Long mediocre. If you're saying that because he leads the nations in fouls, then you must be really scared of what he will do if he can get that under control (which is very possible given he's a frosh getting lots of mins with new rules). Are you serious? If he's getting the points/boards he is now with the fouls and you call him mediocre, then I will take mediocre and give him time to adjust and work on the fouls. I am not worried about that in the long run. And worst case, 10 & 6, for a frosh is a 'mediocre' I can live with.

GG -no reality?! and Canisius has NO tradition, no past glory, no NCAA wins in the last 50 years, no fans, a high school facility. Sure great potential for something this year-let's wait til that happens!~ an almost win at Notre Dame was nice, and I was actually rooting for you! but there's no banner for that.

Here are some facts: Fact #1 Since Fran left Siena has a winning record versus Canisius Fact #2 The worst college basketball coach in the history of mankind beat up your program like a drum, 4 games to 2. Congratulations on making it to the CIT quarterfinals in your "glory years".

I'll enjoy that as much as I am when I called Long a mediocre player and seeing that come to fruition. You really think a freshman averaging almost 10 points game and 5 rebounds in 27 mim/game is "mediocre?" Manhertz is a senior and avgs 8 and 6, so is he "mediocre?" ps--the fact that a Canisius fan feels a need to come on a Siena board speaks volumes of where the programs rate. no way is there any Siena fans trolling a Griff board. Canisius has a board? Huh, I learn something new every day.

This thread was classic GG- when beaten with facts he drops to gutter. The whack job came to Siena board with hearsay that he tried to pass off as facts- the only “sources” GG has are the voices in his head
Let’s review known facts – who knows how Taplin will work out- said it a million times recruit rankings are nice but no guarantee of success – but they are right far more often than wrong. Anyway with that disclaimer out of the way
Sterling told Baron in the spring he had no interest in Canisius – and why would he? Griffs play in a barn in front of very few fans, they have a small budget and little commitment to hoops- probably a big reason why they have one NCAA appearance since Joe McCarthy was holding his communism hearings in the 50’s So Baron goes out and signs a little known PG from NYC.. I have no idea if Siena will eventually land Taplin ( although it looks good) but the reality is Sterling was out of Canisius range of recruits last spring
A program like Canisius is seldom going to beat Siena out for a recruit- and that in the end is what rips GG heart out—sorry GG – good luck this year—next year you’ll find out why URI ran Baron out of town

"Contending?" LOL Billy is the only reason you're in the mix. He goes, you go back to your cellar. Long is a FRESHMAN, Manhertz is a SENIOR. So after 15 games you're out here pounding your chest about Long not being good? Really? 10 and 5 are beyond respectable for a freshman! I'll get you a tissue. And Manhattan without Flores. And Niagara without Mendez. And Iona without MoMo. And SPC without Kiki. What's the point? What does that even mean? Buy a clue. You're joking right??? You're actually trying to compare historic MAAC "Programs" to Canisius? Iona has won more MAAC championships than any other program (although they can't seem to win an NCAA tourney game), Manhattan has won NCAA game as an at large bid, SPC while not a storied program, won MAAC tourney (in spite of refs trying to let not one but two teams back in the game (Fairfield & Iona)). Manhattan & Iona were well known MAAC programs well before Flores & MoMo. Siena was not only a well know MAAC program, before the 3 peat, but a very good program before joining the MAAC. How many mid major, low mid majors ever win their first ever NCAA tourney game they play in? Siena is/was a very good "Program" even without those 3 MAAC championships. But, I have to admit those 3 were fun. Maybe you have MAAC Championship envy.

So after 15 games you're out here pounding your chest about Long not being good? Really? 10 and 5 are beyond respectable for a freshman! Outside of one marvelous recruiting class, Siena has one more MAAC Championship than Canisius. All you morons do is sit around talking about returning to the exception and not the rule. Enjoy that.
I'll get you a tissue. And Manhattan without Flores. And Niagara without Mendez. And Iona without MoMo. And SPC without Kiki. What's the point? What does that even mean? Buy a clue.Gotta love this: in the first post you 'remove' arguably the best recruiting class in MAAC history to show that without those players the teams are more equal. Then in your VERY NEXT post you're critical of hj for doing essentially the exact same thing (however to a much less egregious extent, considering the difference in talent) And since you supposedly care about facts here are some: Since 1989 (when both schools joined the league) Siena has made 8 MAAC championships and won 5, Canisius has made 3 and won 1. In that time (including 2013 to-date) Siena has won 236/410 MAAC games (58%) to Canisius 166/409 (41%) And as i'm sure you're well aware, Siena's most recent NCAA appearance was a third consecutive show in 2010, with tournament wins in 2008 and 2009, in addition to a 2002 PIG win and a victory over Stanford in 1989. Canisius on the other hand has not appeared in the NCAA tournament since 1996 and it's last NCAA victory predates the shotclock by about 30 years. I'm not sure in what realm the programs are comparable but it's certainly not one of facts or logic. He showed you the facts and backed it up with a link. It shows a 10 spot improvement in his national position ranking since the AAU season you claim was so bad. So obviously there were some talent scouts out there who liked what they saw. How do you account for that fact? You chose to ignore it because you can't refute it with any facts of your own. The only "facts" you provide are your secretive conversations with unnamed sources. Sorry, but I'll go with the publically posted national rankings.
