Lets hope these guys are right- Alex Kline has said for quite some time he thought Sterling would end up at Siena. Sterling can play the 1 or 2 and he can shoot all things Siena desperately needs. Sterling gives us a back up point ... gives another option at two along with White and Cole. And shores up the 3 since Cole at 6'5" Patrick can play 3. And with Hymes and Poole as Seniors next years we will have Wright,White,Taplin,Cole as our core back court players for next 3 years- If Jimmy can land this kid it would be a huge signing 247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Sterling-Taplin-at-Williamsville-East-41144/Predictions

Me too, as understandably some tend to get a little 'too high' based on their performances prior to arriving at Siena. Hopefully we start to see some consistency with the talent level advertised vs. what the coaching staff sees fitting the team need and the system they want to deploy.

I don't believe any of the recruits over the past 3 years were highly ranked. Highly advertised etc. In fact, the big complaint was they all seemed to have some * attached along with being ranked pretty poorly. .. If ranked at all

We haven't won a recruiting battle since signing Poole. That will change this winter/spring

I agree, (other than Basabe I would say over the last 5 years) yet some touted them as the second coming of Moses...just my humble opinion. In my world, recruits are like a box of chocolates in Forest Gump- you never know what you're gonna get!

PW - did not win any recruiting battles- he basically only lost them. I know a few posters touted Mitch’s recruits..but anyone decent Mitch landed there was an asterisk. Siena isn’t spending 20 million on a practice facility to recruit “sleepers” ( although an occasional one will be fine) Jimmy will be expected to go out and sign top talent. Landing Taplin( or someone like him) will be a great start

Tony - to be fair to your uncle Mitch, he did identify some good kids early. Such as Terry Larrier, Lyfon, and others. He just could t close a deal to save his life

Fingers are crossed...of course I will feel better when Sterling gives us his official "verbal" (he can't sign until April I believe). Any idea if he plans on doing so before the spring?

I can't wait for the program to turn into a contender and a 20 plus win team every season so we don't have to here this BS over and over again about Mitch. Record wise there is a slight improvement, after a win things are great and watchout but after a loss its all of Mitch's fault or his recruits.
