This was the second straight game that Siena seemed sluggish in one half and played lights out in the other half.
Q Is this typical of a young team ?
Q: For those who went to Montreal games- did you see this up there ?

UA didn't wear us down-- its typical of young teams What UA did was they were very good at attacking the weak spot in man to man defense-- whether it was Hymes- Oliver or Bisping..early in game Brown tried to attack Long and JO and it didn't work. It took Jimmy too long to go to zone.. then Siena fought uphill to either tie it or go ahead with 5 or 6 min to play.. we missed too many foul shots, Jimmy got a very bad technical and we lost. typical young team that did not execute down the stretch

Yes, the tech was a momentum killer; yeah, we missed a lot of free throws; our kids are inexperienced. UA won the game just as much as the Saints lost it.

You didnt lose down the stretch...you had a good 10 minutes and then you got worked with exception of 3 minutes in the second half. It was a methodical beating over the last 27-30 minutes...steady and just slowly grinding the lead down... Siena had their chance to step on our throat and never did...UA played poorly the first 10 minutes and then it was on...#turnoffthelights

JP waited too long to go to the zone in the 2nd half. Brown obviously told his kids at halftime if they shot outside of 3 ft, they were coming out. EVERYTHING was AT the rim. They were in the bonus shooting FT's, before the 10 min mark. Then the zone bothered them for awhile, and we got back in it. Shot selection , more than tired legs, by the Saints in the 2nd half was awful, and that's to be expected by a young team that squanders a 16 pt lead and finds itself down late in the game.
It was a 2-4 pt game really. Can't get beat at the FT like that and win games. Just the first game of lessons for this talented, but ultra young group. I'm already onto the next one. Just learn, and improve.

We shall see what happens in the next 5 games. It should be a great template on this team early on. Who has game? Who should start ? Is there a pattern in the type of game they are playing? Are they sluggish again ? Do they go to zone earlier in the game? Will Patsos throw another clip board ? Or a chair next ? lol

I chalk it up to the fact that we made shots in the first half and didn't make any in the 2nd half. The end.

I chalk it up to the fact that we made shots in the first half and didn't make any in the 2nd half. The end. Thats what it usually boils down to. Put the ball in the hoop and score points(70) as some of the experts point to.

If we had shot just 70% on FTs...that's another 4 pts. If we had shot just 30% on threes...that's another 9 pts.
That happens and we win easily.
We gave up a lot of FTs being behind at the end of the game. Quite possibly the score could have/should have been reversed.
We outrebounded them by 6. We didn't get outmuscled. We made a few stupid turnovers and we didn't make shots. That's it.
The scariest stat for me may be that we had only 2 steals vs. 11 for them. They aren't a pressure team and we're supposed to be. They basically play Mitch ball. Scary.
Teams are going to zone us to death. Get used to it.
