If we had shot just 70% on FTs...that's another 4 pts. If we had shot just 30% on threes...that's another 9 pts. That happens and we win easily. We gave up a lot of FTs being behind at the end of the game. Quite possibly the score could have/should have been reversed. We outrebounded them by 6. We didn't get outmuscled. We made a few stupid turnovers and we didn't make shots. That's it. The scariest stat for me may be that we had only 2 steals vs. 11 for them. They aren't a pressure team and we're supposed to be. They basically play Mitch ball. Scary. Teams are going to zone us to death. Get used to it. We will shoot better KK esp from the line...if teams play zone the zone offense will generate shots..and our shooters are better than they played vs UA.

Everybody seems to want to push the shooters to the end of the bench after one game. With White out there we're obviously a much better defensive and rebounding team. It's obvious. But then who makes the shots? Teams will put pressure on Poole. His %'s will fall. Maybe Lavon makes some, maybe White makes some. I fear it will be a common theme this year. Hopefully, the half court runs better and we get more easy looks. We also NEED to force more turnovers and get more transition buckets to offset our shooting woes. If we start White we can be a really good defensive team but that will have consequences if he doesn't make enough jumpers to keep teams from packing it in. Maybe Wright can get something going but his HS history suggests he stick to driving and the midrange game. We now have a lot of toughness and athleticism and a pure PG. All around shooting, fouls, and forcing TOs look like the big issues.

That's why I still believe guys like Oliver and Bisping will be effective. ..White played great D but I doubt Patsos went into the game feeling like he would play as much as he did....the offense did not flow but he earned that time on the defensive end...def needed to be on the floor ...so all of the offensive flow that we saw in the exhibition game was not there as that lineup was not comfortable with each other yet..we are better than 0-16 from 3...I believe Patsos can put it together. ...we have shooters and defenders

This inconsistency on offense is why I suggested that our best chance to win games is having the best defensive and revounding line-ups out there:
Silas Long Poole White Wright
**Hymes can fill in at the 1 or 2 to provide a shooting spark. You know he can hit a couple threes in 50 seconds at any time.
** When Poole needs a breather plug in Oliver or slide White up. Oliver NEEDS to atleast pretend like hes a shooter to keep the defense honest.
** Spread the floor? Plug in Bisping, who I think can shoot fine, at either 4 or 5. Just go Zone for those 8 minutes a game.
** Wolfe can give Lavon a breather and also spread the floor at the forward spot, plus he can guard quicker MAAC 4s.
** Put in Ogunyemi at center to split with Silas. He is smooth around the basket and has good hands. Don't lose too much with him on defense, maybe rebounding a bit.
The offensive threats can be slotted in depending on match-ups and game situations. I really think you start off goin all or nothing defensive/rebounding line-ups. The team is better offensively in transition anyways.

I think one thing is clear, we should never attempt 24 three pointers again. Attack the rim. When they go zone, attack the rim some more. Unless Lavon's in front of you they don't call charges anymore anyway.
