It is becoming more and more obvious that our most talented team is JO-Long-White- Wright and Poole—that’s 4 freshmen and a junior. Does Jimmy go that route or does he mix it up and maybe start Bisping at the 5 ( or Oliver at 2) to have more veteran’s out there. My guess is early in the year that’s what he does, by the time the MAAC schedule rolls around I expect we very well might see that line up ( that’s assuming Cole isn’t eligible) thoughts on starting 4 freshmen? Should he do it?

Absolutely! Give them needed experience early in games that won't mean as much as conference games. If he chooses to roll the dice in that direction he'll have to be careful to not have it backfire if our up games (Purdue, Memphis, etc.) get out of hand early and the kids' confidence levels risk getting undermined. We would have our experience coming off the bench - not a bad tradeoff, IMO. With our numbers he'll be able to quickly pull guys for "teaching moments" and get them back in just as quickly at every position. He has already stated that performance in practice will dictate starts - the kids will get to hear that same philosophy when they meet Gary Williams on Monday - he has been quoted saying "games are won on the practice floor" and Jimmy appears to have carried that line of thought into his career.

Based on what I saw yesterday and posted later, 4 freshmen are in our top 6 of currently eligible players. Play them and let them learn

Oliver owns the starting 2 spot right now and if Cole gets a waiver White will have 2 non freshmen to compete with..and JO has Bisping and his experience to compete with for the 5 spot...White and JO could end up coming off the bench and playing starter mins....I believe Wright and Long will start and we will see 4 freshmen on the court together a lot

Oliver and Audu did nothing yesterday. If they play meaningful minutes it will be aong bad season

Oliver and Audu did nothing yesterday. If they play meaningful minutes it will be aong bad season I tend to agree-- nothing will be handed to White( nor should it) Oliver has advantage of being in Jimmy's system since last April.. From a talent standpoint no question White is more talented.. and BTW that was the point of my post--- I didn't say best players in system etc..I said talent.. and from a pure "talent" POV White is better than Oliver. I expect with a week to go before season starts we hear Jimmy saying White has been practicing better etc. Before the end of December ( if not sooner) White will be ahead of Oliver in rotation

And Burns was there ysterday. Seems like he attends a lot of Siena eventsfora kid going big time. I could see him graduating this year and coming to Siena. A future fron line of JO at center, Long at PF and Burns at SF could be tough.

True - Wolf is one bouncy guy. I would love to get him the gym for an off season and make him 230lbs

1) I will be very surprised if I don't see this..
PG. Wright SG. Oliver SF. Poole PF. Long C. Bisping
6. Hymes 7. JO 8. Audu 9. White 10. Silas
2) The only way your going to see 4 freshmen on the floor- is if-there is blowout.Siena needs experience on the floor! They key will be finding the best combo that works together and scores the most points!
3) Someone like JO might see more minutes ( off the bench) in any given night..depending on who Siena is playing or if he is scoring left and right!

Go with freshman backcourt. When Hymes comes back he is certainly going to see time, and if White progresses, what do you say to Oliver? Thanks but now youre 3rd string kid? Lets roll with Wright and White for 4 years!!!!
Wright - - Hymes White - - Hymes - - Oliver - - Audu Poole - - Oliver Long - - Bisping Silas - - Ogunyemi
I know that Silas has been foul prone and off to a slow start. I just think that it will be hard to go up against big schools early on and not start youre best rebounder to see what he can give you, at least initially.

Starting 4 frosh is doable and really by the last half or third of the season (if making progress) they usually stop playing like freshman anyway. If White isn't starting from the get go look for him to crack it like Moore did under Fran. From what I saw this kid has talent far beyond Audu and Oliver. I suspect one of these guys isn't here next year.
I'd love to see Elijah Burns in the green and gold. Think we have a shot at him?

I think most knowledgeable fans who have seen team agree on that. You putting White 9th leads me to believe you have never seen team practice .. or have an agenda..I'll leave it to others to decide
