Listen, I kept my season tickets through the bad years, but the program needs its casual fans to get to the next level. We don't have to listen to them being sanctimonious on this board, but we can still welcome them back to the flock. I agree 100%. In bad times there were 2500 of us there. They right the ship and we quickly get back to 7000 plus. That's reality and we all do understand why. Let's hope we are starting a long successful run without the periodic glitches we have had to endure. JP is the man. If there is anyone in the coaching ranks that is going to draw the casual fan he is it. His personality and some wins, we could hit unprecedented numbers in attendance in the future.

What is pathetic is that you think the program can survive with just hardcore fans-it cannot. You need a broad base of fans and that only happens when a good consistent product is produced. These fair weather fans are exactly what you need to support an elite mid major program, that is if you want to be one. Pathetic is subsidizing failure. It is not subsidizing failure. You can still attend games and support a program even though you do not like the coach. Some people still root for the players and cheer and show support during hard times. Its like the quote "adversity introduces a man to himself." Why should anyone listen to you here when you bail on the program when you don't like the coach or because they are losing. No shit none of us liked it but we were atleast there when times were tough to watch. You can chose to be a fair weather fan if you like Cellar rat but it has exposed your character here. You are entitled to attend games just when the team is winning or at your level of excitement. It is what it is. I haven't missed one game during the Mitch era. Tv, video feed, or radio. Some games I watched multiple times. I read every article I could find on the team and it's players. No I don't go to the arena as I prefer to watch games on tv and it is more convenient. So you can call me what you want I really don't care. I just find it hilarious that you feel like you have that authority. And something tells me that if given that power you would probably restrict "fair weather fans" from viewing games in our next dynasty era. Stop being silly. My point was simple you need a broad base of fans. People like us, (yes I consider myself a real fan) are not enough to sustain this program.

My original argument is against the fans that intentionally boycotted games to make a point they dont like the coach. That they would hurt the program overall financially is ridiculous because of mitch. I could care less about the fair weather fan although you see my opinion regarding them anyways.

It is 131 miles from work (only 118 from home) to the TUC for me. I made very few trips up the last season and the 2nd half of the previous season, not because I didn't support the program, it just wasn't fun anymore or worth the effort. I watched the home games on my laptop and even the away games that opponents made available. I wasn't making a statement. Like CellarRat I read everything I can find about the Saints. As I write this I am waiting to hear back from a couple of friends who have no idea what a Siena game is before I buy my tickets for the UA game later today but I am jazzed for the start of this season. "The Show" is back on!!!
