If Silas really does go backwards, I don't think they can afford to redshirt Wolf. They'll need the extra body. I am hoping Silas can't go backwards far enough that he becomes unusable. They could still redshirt Wolfe and use Silas as the 4th big man and Hopper as the emergency 5th. Just means Lavon is stuck playing inside more which might be just fine for 2 years and then he can move to the perimeter when Poole graduates.

I would wait to see what Silas does with the coaching staff in practices and a few ooc games under his belt. I just wonder how many of his turnovers are traveling violations? He really could use help with his footwork, positioning and general feel for the game. All should improve with strong coaching and hard work put in. Agreed...really counting on this

That would be unfortunate ....back to Lavon being the size rather than playing with size...that was not the plan...just let him keep coming off the bench and give the Bigs the time inside to get better....Lavon can earn mins at the 3

Looking like Oliver and Audu are going to be contributors. Silas going backwards is worrisome. If that keeps up then it is nice to know Lavon, JO, and Bisping are all looking good and could man the inside for this season while Wolfe redshirts. In all due respect I hope not....at this rate Lavon will be a center again...smh I hope Silas gets it together He won't be a center but he could be playing a lot of PF and I think you will be quite happy when you see how flexible of a position that can be in the MAAC.

Patsos is going to play with the line-up and will have to continue to do so in the OOC when Hymes and White are back in the mix. Wright, Hymes, Poole, Long, Bisping will all get their minutes. I believe Silas will come around, and JO will see time. The competition will be the 20-25 minutes per game in the off guard spot. No one is worried about LaVon, he will utilize his skills no matter what line up he is in their with, he is a frontcourt point forward match-up nightmare.

Averaged 17.1 PPG and 8.1 RPG as a PG playing PF, it can work just fine in the MAAC: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine_Jordanwww.sienasaints.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2005-2006/teamcume.htmlLavon is way better off in his development playing 20 minutes at the 4 and 10 minutes at the 3 than just backing up Poole at the 3.

The first two games were with FIBA rules and the last two games have been with college rules I'm assuming since they've played two 20 minutes halves. In four games we are averaging 77.5 PPG..don't expect that when the games count in November but if we're around 70 PPG we should be in very good shape. Jimmy can coach uptempo basketball -we'll see if will be as fast as Fran played.

He's too small - even by MAAC standards. He will see time at the 4 though. Which should be of little concern, as he can still play his preferred game at the 4 in this league where many teams are running 4 guard lineups. If you can find footage of Trenity Burdine playing the 4 last season, you'll see a 3 can often do just fine playing like a 3 while manning the 4.

I think that Silas' real value to this team will be on the defensive end of the court. He needs to learn how to defend and block without fouling. This will allow him to stay on the floor for some much needed interior defense.
There are a lot of other scoring options on this team; we just need him to defend the paint and pull down rebounds. His scoring should be of the opportunistic variety. If they stop trying to get him the ball in the post, that will naturally reduce the turnover problems that he has shown.

IMOP Lavon has the skill set to fill the 5 stats just like he did senior year.....he can do it from the 3/4 positions he just needs more minutes but he wont if he is stuck as the 4 due to his size...skills will be wasted

Siena has Silas, Bisping, Ogunyemi, and Wolfe to play most of the minutes at the 4/5 before Lavon has to. But he will play there some on occasion when the team needs to go smaller and quicker against smaller opponents or in the event of foul trouble. As I said above, don't get too hung up on what the name of position he plays is. In the MAAC where you see a lot of 4 guard lineups, Lavon still gets to play like a 3 even if he's playing at the 4 during a given game.

If Lavon goes first team All MAAC this year I think we will all be happy with whatever position he plays. He has time to develop. Hymes was supposed to be gone and White, Audu, and Oliver were all uncertain so it made a ton of sense to play Poole at the 2 when Lavon got here. Now there appears to be some depth at the 2 and Silas is going backwards so it makes a ton of sense for Poole to play the 3. You don't want Lavon only backing up Siena's best player at the 3, he can develop his skills just fine while backing up the 3 and playing the 4. In the majority of MAAC games they won't be using him for his size at all, will be getting the best players on the court.

No I would not be happy with Lavon making All MAAC as a PF...that wont maximize his potential ...the only option Etherly had was Europe as an undersized PF....Lavon made the All tourney in the BCL championship game but as a 6'6 center that did not mean much....you gave to admit a 6'6 guard is alot more attractive than a 6'6 PF....if Lavon did not have the skills I would not be saying this...but he does...He is listed correctly on the roster.....I hope he gets the opportunity after all the work he has put in and all of the sacrifices he made over the years for the sake of his teams....for that to happen Poole needs to play the 2 more than the 3 as it was stated originally and the Bigs need to give positive mins at the 4 and 5
