It’s the RIGHT move but I’m actually pretty shocked. I told you in was a possibility. My sources nailed it. D’Arg wanted to keep Carm and was informed it was either him or Carm. D’Arg will be forced into retirement within the next couple of years. I feel for Carm the man but not the coach. Nobody survives 4-28 in year 5 with any place with real expectations and fan support. Siena must get the next hire right. Could literally be the program at stake! Having to firing 3 coaches in 11 years and 4 in 19 if you go back to Lanier is embarrassing. Your sources, lmfao! When you throw enough crap at a wall some of it has a tendency to stick.

Just shut the whole department down if the plan is Antcil and Brown. Who know what will happen, I just threw that out there because of all the rumors. It won’t be Will Brown. My early list not any inside stuff just educated guesses. Names I’ll throw out. Robert Jones- Norfolk St HC (though he’s reportedly interviewing at Loyola Chicago so better act quickly) Gerry McNamara- Syracuse associate HC Kimani Young - UConn associate HC Luke Murray - UConn assistant Joe Gallo- Merrimack HC Phil Martelli Jr. - Bryant HC Jordan Fee - Gannon HC (D2) Mike Morell - UNC-Asheville HC Donald Copeland - Wagner HC

I'll renew when the letters come out. I giggled and deleted the Siena Day of Giving email. I just pulled it out of the deleted folder and sent in $100. If they do WB as a bridge - they should be clear about that. Anything can change if he hits it out of the park but it would settle some folks who will be almost as pissed about that.

OneIndian, when will you just take the L? So far you predicted Siena wouldn’t part with Carm because they owe him too much money. That turns out to be incorrect. You then predicted that if Siena were to fire Carm they would have to hire Will Brown on the cheap. Not only did you make these wild predictions you decided to ridicule people who saw things differently. When Will Brown is coaching a D3 school next year will you finally refrain from being such an annoying know it all?

I don't really care who it is - Santa Claus even works for me!!!!!!!!! :)this morning I feel new energy about being a Siena fan. I ONCE AGAIN have excitement for the program. You need to look at the program this way - what it presently had fallen to ( among the WORST 5 programs in the entire NCAA) and what it could become. I agree - a Fran type of hire would be amazing, but ANYONE is an improvement. Things are looking up, and a smile should be on the face of EVERY Siena fan!!!!!! Go Saints!!!!!!!!!!! ( I really couldn't say that, the way things were trending!!)

Given style of play and results/impact I would lean heavily to Jordan Fee.

Gerry Mac should be on a short list of candidates for the job. If Darg wasn't recommending this decision then he should be encouraged to retire and get somebody in there that isn't mailing it in and might actually have more of a pulse on the coach and player relationships, evaluate the coaches continually during the season and provide guidance, encouragement and a good talking to, if necessary.

Most didn’t see Carm being fired, including people who cover this kind of stuff for a living, it caught just about everyone by surprise. For the record, I said the only way Siena parts with Carm is if benefactors step in (which looks to be the case here). At no time did I say Will Brown will be hired but rather his consideration made sense under the circumstances. I’m not sure how long you’ve been posting here, Mike makes the same predictions whenever Siena reaches a breaking point with a coach. His sources? Gmab.

He needs to go today too.

You didn’t want people speculating on anybody else because they would be too expensive. What sources were you operating with when you were telling people Siena couldn’t afford to buy Carm out? I can’t speak for what MTS has said or done in the past but so far he’s been more correct than you. Let’s just hope Siena does a thorough search and gets somebody qualified.

Surprised that Siena pulled the trigger on this one. Like others, I am sorry for Carm the man, but realistically as a coach with the last recruiting cycle and subsequent disastrous record, no coach could survive. I hope Carm hooks up with a great assistant job and is successful going forward.

Yeah I immediately deleted the giving day email. I had already decided not to renew my wife's season ticket, (well she decided last year and I ended up inviting friends until didn't want to inflict the pain on them anymore this year), but now I will renew my remaining ticket for next year and hope for the best. The two freshmen recruits see like quality players and I hope the new coach can re-recruit them and hit the portal hard. When I say Courtney hit the portal I was surprised, but then I saw Carm was let go and then it made sense.
