Offense never clicked last year, so guys were not getting consistent shots in in rhythm and where they were comfortable. Too many shots came late in shot clocks and with guys trying to create their own. Smith, Ojo and Michael E were all freshman and saw their minutes fluctuate through the season. Coyle was essentially a freshman as well. I’d like to see what all 4 can do with consistent point guard play and an offense designed to create open shots rather than trying to feed the post and/or use the dribble to get into the lane.
I am not saying Gmac should build around them, just that all 4 showed enough promise at times to compete for playing time.

I really liked the way Ojo improved during the year and his potential for future growth. As an 8th/9th man ME would be good. Hoping GMac brings in enough talent that Coyle and Smith are the 12th/13th best scholarship players.

Hoping GMac brings in enough talent that Coyle and Smith are the 12th/13th best scholarship players. Smith was the highest rated recruit last year, best thing about freshman is that they develop. He was asked to be a ball handler when it obviously didn’t come naturally to him. Ojo had a stretch where he was awesome but didn’t play nearly as well late in the season. Good size and athleticism. Michael E is a strong physical guard, every team needs guys like that. Coyle has good size and a pretty stroke. He plays hard, does the little things and plays with attitude. (In fact, Ojo, Michael E and Coyle were the guys on the team that I though competed the hardest whenever they were on the floor) I don’t think any player should be judged on their freshman season unless they are totally overmatched physically/athletically. None of those 4 fit that bill. I’ll be happy if any or all of them come back. As always, just my 2 cents.

Hard to judge any individual player from this past season given the complete mess that Carm produced. I will put full trust in new staff to determine who if any players should be retained.

I’m hoping Ojo, Evbagharu and Coyle.stay.They’re all pretty good players who were never properly coached or tutored. I think they could thrive under Gerry !

"Just kind of to see what’s out there. I like Siena. Obviously, it’s a new staff, so definitely would be open to returning if I’m recruited by the new staff again.”
Translation; how much more can I make elsewhere and will the new staff renegotiate with me; hopefully not, see ya.

I don't blame him. New staff, new plan. He may or may not fit. If Gerry wants him, he'll recruit him. If not, I'm sure Sean will land on his feet. He's a scorer undeniably. I would love to see what Gerry could do with him.

Exactly. "Do I get to keep the car or get downsized to an e-bike?"

Glad to see him go. Plays soft and didn't support the team. Pretty good in "garbage time" racking up thse points though.

Slightly surprised Eley hasnt landed anywhere yet. Figure maybe somewhere midwest like Drake or something like that or maybe the Atlantic 10.
