other than the score differential...............the SAME issues with this team reared their ugly head last night, as it did all season..........
1) poor ball handling with costly turnovers/poor decisions, not having a stable of competent guards is ridiculous 2) horrendous defense both collectively and individually, Carm continued to play man D with players unable to defend, this roster was better suited for playing mostly zone 3) head scratching substitution patterns by Carm, guys playing too many minutes which hurts their effectiveness, other guys not playing at all, weird combinations, it was a helter-skelter appraoch with really no thought put into 4) offensive scheme is non-existent, with essentially too many guys who can't "attack & finish", Carm never devised anything to get players good shots or at least put them in position to get better scoring opportunities
just a brutal season, thankfully it is over..........

A competitive final game. Nice to see the players go out fighting. Now let’s see what happens on the recruiting front.

And I don’t want to hear they need to wait till after the tournament. This isn’t the World Series where the league doesn’t want to distract from the games. Every day is critical and this needs to be resolved in 24 hours.

Assuming he's coming back let's hope lesson learned, all the scholarships are filled with best available players willing and able to compete for a starting spot.

Unfortunately this isn't just a recruiting problem.

Here is the presser:
Paulis seems to be such a more complete coach than Carm.
Siena Notes and Notables
Siena had a balanced attack, with five Saints scoring double digits, led by Michael Eley’s 15 points.
Zek Tekin finished with 11 points and two assists.
The trio of Giovanni Emejuru, Brendan Coyle, and Mason Courtney scored 10 points each.
Siena led for 24:18 in the setback, more than 14 minutes longer than Niagara.
Saints lead for more than half of the game and still could not get the W. Carm simply cannot coach his team to victory and cannot string W's together in March when it really counts. It is time for a new chapter in Siena basketball. Carm has had 5 years to prove he is the right guy for the job and he did not accomplish that. His results have actually gotten worse each year.

Couldn’t agree with you more!! Carm will get another year to redeem himself but he better be a great salesman in order to get any real players to attend Siena. And his assistants better be better too. This year could repeat again next year which might send us back to. D2 or 3 and playing on campus.

Do you think the school will still have a presser when they announce Carm is coming back for another year? Explain to the fan base why this is the best option (it isnt)? Or do you think they just release a statement that Carm will be the coach next year or do neither and just go on like business as usual? I would think they would need to address this. This is utterly unacceptable for this program to be 4-28. Like a previous poster said, its more like 4-34 and only one MAAC tournament win in his tenure, out first round every year since. The program is in complete shambles. Need someone other than Carm to pull it out. How long before the portal exodus begins? I would suspect its pretty quickly. Most of the freshman, Eley, Durugordon.

Unfortunately this isn't just a recruiting problem. True but it's where we are. Hard for some to come to grips with it but we are a failing program with a coach who still has two years left on his contract. The least he can do is fill all the scholarships, give himself a chance.

One positive, the team finally made all their free throws. 11 for 11.

My vote is they will do nothing but send out renewal notices.
