100% true.....but for all the wrong reasons. Will Brown would be another lazy hire. No more MAAC, local or Siena ties to the next HC. Then you'll get your wish in 2026.....maybe. Could easily extend this guy with a 15-17 win season.

Can't recruit if you are a "dead man walking" on a last year of a deal so you could be right!

Can't recruit if you are a "dead man walking" on a last year of a deal so you could be right! BUT you can, because players coming in are only here on a 1 yr basis.........so both coaches and players are only focusing on 1 year at a time, so it doesn't matter what the contract is for the coach anymore because his job is to WIN in the current yr in front of him, can't look beyond that no matter the circumstances, imho.......

My comment has nothing to do with Carm. In my opinion they were classless cheap shots by Brown. It showed the character of the man. So as much as I want Carm gone, I don’t want to see Brown as the next coach. A few “ X”posts that spoke to recruiting, coaching technique and player interaction is hardly in bad taste especially when they were spot on in assessment. No worries, we’ve got Carm for 2 more😉. Didnt say his comments were wrong, just classless. One of those unwritten rules in sports, you don’t publicly campaign for a job someone else is in, no matter how bad he is. I guess we just have differing opinions on what class is.

Siena needs a ruthless head coach and they need to start bringing in 22 and 23 year old players that have chips on their shoulders.

Carm set himself up like a bowling pin and wasn’t exactly Mr. Congeniality. Repeatedly talking about his players, blaming his players for all of his shortcomings and taking a poke at Tekin. Sometimes what goes around, comes around. Personally Will taking a few shots at the way things were going given how Carm was conducting business doesn’t bother me a lick. Honestly from what I’ve read about Will, his players love playing for him and have nothing but positive things to say. That speaks volumes. My comment has nothing to do with Carm. In my opinion they were classless cheap shots by Brown. It showed the character of the man. So as much as I want Carm gone, I don’t want to see Brown as the next coach. I'm not quite sure why anyone here would go "off" or react negatively about my observations pertaining to Brown's comments in the interview. He said he was going to do all he possibly could to find schools for his players to continue playing ball at the college level. I personally never liked the guy or his personality for years. He always seemed quite aloof and cold, not much of a warm personality. In this case I thought he showed a sincere concern and responsibility to insure each player could continue their college play at some level. Does he have other motives? Probably, but if he can help these young women find rosters for continued play, good for him.

Couldn’t agree more, D1 hoop is a business, entertainment but business first due to the cost to the school fans. As for Brown, personality sucks but your not hiring him for that your hiring him to coach run a program. Not a UA anymore because he PO’d the AD. He may have learned still a coach decent, meets financial requirements of Siena and wants to stay in area.

Brown has been a winning coach, but with the "rich" tradition of Siena basketball, do they hire a guy because he would be a cheap option and is local so he might take the job, so he doesn't have to relocate sound like a winning move, or a "it's within our budget so why not give it a try" scenario? Siena has to do better.

You really can’t argue with any opinion here as everyone wants what is best for the school. Siena needs change, like it or not. Small liberal arts colleges of Siena’s size are going out annually. The AD needs to retire, board members need to be thanked for their participation and replaced. Change is inevitable and to make it in today’s world fresh ideas are always needed.

I cannot wait for the new Siena HC to be announced so this nonsense of WB being on the Saints bench will be put to rest once and for all.

I think Wills only shot was the bargain basement theory I floated a month ago. With the alumni financial support we're hearing about, it sounds like we're solid in the money dept, and should/will make this a true national search.
I'd put Wills chances of getting this job at 1/100 right now.
