Last game of the year and a half dozen posts about it speaks to the absolute lack of interest in Siena hoop.

Congrats to all the BOTs and all past and present presidents; you have killed the golden goose!

at this point, with the team sitting at 4-22, and more specifically 4-28 in their last 32 games which is no by no means a small sample size.........this program, the lack of talent, the obvious lack of capable coaching............this thread needs to be changed to BORED ACTIVITY............ update....... at this point, with the team sitting at 4-26, and more specifically 4-32 in their last 36 games which is no by no means a small sample size.........this program, the lack of talent, the obvious lack of capable coaching............this thread needs to be changed to BORED ACTIVITY.........

There seems to be quite a bit of activity around the future of Carm and who the next HC should be.

The problem is institutional. Siena has had more cratered seasons than successful ones over the years. This one is just the latest example.Good, well run programs do not have the checkered history of this one. Bad management and bad decision making have consequences.

This one is just the latest example.Good, well run programs do not have the checkered history of this one. Bad management and bad decision making have consequences. Right and it’s mostly post Fran. Siena had a few bad years before Fran but it wasn’t a lot. Lanier’s last year was bad and the entire Beyer tenure was bad. But in the last 14 years Siena has lost 20 games or more 4 times (6 for the entire history of the program). Two 24 loss seasons and a 28 loss season. 13-18, 14-17, 8-24, 20-18, 11-20, 21-13, 17-17, 8-24, 17-16, 20-10, 12-5, 15-14, 17-15, 4-28 That’s 197-239 (.452) - throwing out the truncated season of 20-21 Siena has had only two truly “good” seasons in 14 years (15-16 and 19-20). Now some of those teams just having a winning record was progress - Patsos year 1 (won CBI) or Christian’s one year because they were rebuilding jobs. The rest are embarrassing including a complete collapse last year to torpedo a once promising season. From 1997-2010 Siena was 256-159 (.617) - 5 MAAC tournament and NCAA trips, 3 NCAA wins, 2 NIT, 6 regular season titles. Right now we’re a failing program. A complete and total reset is in order. But that will probably take time. So the first step will be something Siena will have done for the 5th time since 2010 hiring another head coach.

It’s almost been 15 years, I think when that much time passes you need ask yourself what is an anomaly and what is normal for this program. It’s not hard to argue that the success we had early on with Mike, Paul and Fran was more of an aberration. You can’t get it wrong as often as Siena does and think we’re something special. Since Mike D we’ve hit approximately 1/3 of our hires.

Sort of a Siena tradition… my four years ‘67-‘71 the talk was all about the glory days of Siena Bball in the 50s … the reality was sub-500 teams each season I was there … although blowouts were not part of that tradition
