I hate the term "low-major"... I mean the MAAC might be but Siena isn't. Kind of like how Gonzaga is a high-major who plays in a mid-major conference.

Iona is fielding nearly an entirely new team after a disastrous season. What proven results from last season's returnees is their being included based on? That's an odd addition to the list apparently based on who the new coach is...assuming he's even allowed to coach after coming sanctions.

MTS, Siena hasn’t had a top 125 team in over a decade. People can call us low major unfortunately.
If anyone on that list has a right to feel insulted, it should be teams like Yale, Harvard, UVM etc..

MTS Ever since Siena abdicated the hiring of a new coach solely to the whims of a priest-president , Siena has become a low-major.
Maybe with a new lay president the school will once again recognize the importance of the MBB program to the reputation of the school and allow a competent committee to hire new MBB coaches. I agree Siena has all the resources to be a top 100 team almost every year.

Like I said before college basketball has to be split like football. That list is just a begining there is no way teams on that list should or could complete with power conference teams and play in a tournament to determine a national championship.

Why do you always include a snide reference to our prior President's who were Priests - it was founded by Priests and continues to be a Catholic College - the decisions on hiring that proved to be faulty or horrible had nothing to do with the Roman collar

That's the problem with labeling low majors. Sure if your standard is everyone who can't win a national championship then only 50 teams aren't low major. If your standard is everyone outside the top 125 then you are ignoring teams that have 20 win seasons and win games in the NCAA tournament and teams that are generally better than the bottom third of the NCAA.
If you ignore conference affiliation, and have three groups -- major mid major low major than 1-99 major 100-200 mid everyone else low. I like 4 groups 1-50, 51-99, 100-199, 200 and below.
Either way you look at it I don't favor splitting division but would favor capping membership at 300.

Take that away and much of its allure is gone. Allowing 4 teams to play for the championship in CFB hasn't hurt. Bowl games are a reward for others. In basketball you want a shot at the big boys play during the OOC part of season. This isn't that hard to figure. As for capping at 300 that's a problem which 50 or so do you throw out? It would decimate the MAAC.

It sucks. That's why I don't watch it.
