I just read where IONA signed Rick Pitino! I love the job Carm did this year, but I'm kind of awed by how much IONA wants to win. "Awed"? Disgusted seems more appropriate.

I've been wondering since the weird end of the season: Will next year's logo contain a sixth trophy? in all likely it will...............and as it has been reported earlier..............Siena will be receiving the MAAC tournament championship trophy (and this is pissing off tons of Iona fans as they actually thought their streak was still in effect, although now they are quite happy that they have Satan as their new head coach)..........and at some point, when we finally return to normal, there will be a celebration for the team/players, students & fans so that we all can have some way to revel into this past years season success............

Joe Lunardi: How final NCAA Tournament bracket would've looked No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 16 Siena We were just behind Winthrop and Northern Kentucky in the NET. With two more wins we would have easily passed them and wound up a 15 seed. But had they seeded the tournament with how things stood when they stopped playing we were likely a 16.

The Washington Post has this NCAA simulation. We were in the First Four against Robert Morris and won big. Here is there write up of the result. This is as far as we got... No. 16 Siena beat No. 16 Robert Morris Point guard Jalen Pickett and forward Manny Camper were each above-average players for Siena this year. Pickett led the team in points (15.1) and assists (6.0) per game while Camper cleaned the glass with over 10 rebounds per contest. Robert Morris was overmatched.

Here was ESPN's projection:
No. 1 Kansas over No. 16 Siena
A sloppy first half from Kansas draws some early concern, but the Jayhawks recover and pull away for the expected win.

A 16 seed that does not play in Dayton should not be matched up with the overall No. 1 seed.

I changed my profile to include Siena 2020 NCAA tournament....whether or not the NCAA tournament is played (highly doubtful now) Siena is the rep via the regular season outright championship. Therefore Siena should be recognized as a 2020 NCAA tournament team in their notes, history and banner raising next year. It's big for recruiting/history/tradition and happened through no fault of our own obviously. Does anyone have a problem with this or think it won't happen? While I enjoy the spirit and fandom; The same energy which brings us to this site daily; I fail to understand the need to be officially recognized as a 2020 NCAA tourney team. It's all speculation and mostly driven by favorites in the media. That said, we are all reaching for entertaining options, sports or non sports. If you are a recruit or true sports fan that follows this sport we all love; you won't need an official bracket seeding ro know just how well this team played and was poised for a significant lost season run in the maac and potentially the ncaa. Lastly, if the league didn't get cute and move the MAAC tourney to a week later in the sports schedule. If played in our normal positioning in our sports calendar, we would have played it out and at least known our MAAC Champ. It's all very sad. Be safe all:)

The MAAC declared Siena the champion (via the regular season championship won outright) and NCAA tournament representative (like the Ivy league did a few days before with Yale). Had the NCAA tournament been played Siena would've went. Therefore they're an NCAA team. Siena absolutely should claim it and put it on their banner. It won't say NCAA and the round reached (First, Second, Sweet 16 etc) because obviously a game wasn't played. It should not say "Tournament champions" because we did not win the tournament of course. But it should say Siena Saints 2019-2020 MAAC champions... NCAA ... that simple. Put an asterisk in the record books if you want fine. Why is it important? For me #1 recruiting and tradition/history.

All good points, kinda ironic that the first time we move the maac tourney a week later, it burns us. We normally play the week before the selection show and we would have been able to play it out on the court.
