so my question is did each of those players take inadmissible benefits at some point or do all layers suffer equally? Also, it sucks that the booster wasn't even an alum I would guess that the statistical adjustment to the individual records would be the identifying factor in who took inadmissible benefits. After I typed that I realized that since the wins were taken away, all stats for those games would be affected too. I guessed wrong, sorry BigG.

Yes hoop Dad. How would you rank Iona's decision to hire Patino? Do you excuse him because he is an all time winning coach who just happens to be morally bankrupt? I do not really have an opinion one way or another. Iona is free to do what they want as an instituiton and a program. If Pitino is able to coach without any penalities from the NCCA, keeps the program clean and wins games, it will probably turn out to be a great decision for Iona. If he messess up like Patsos, it will be a regrettable hire for the Gaels. Just like hiring JP is for the Saints. BTW, since these games essential do not count or exist in the history of Siena basketball do us fans get our money back?

No way Pitino cheats at Iona. The whole point is to regain his reputation and eligibility. Name recognition alone will get him recruits. The problem for Iona is that I doubt he wants to end his career there. If that's the case he'll be out in 3-4 years max and with him a bunch of the 4 or 5-star recruits. I don't think it really builds the program. What do I know though.

They chose to hire the guy known for 2 things, winning games and a lack of character/poor morals. I said it when Siena was considering him ... if Siena had hired him, I would no longer be a Siena fan. I've never been a fan of Iona and the way they go about administering their basketball program. Hiring Pitino is completely on brand for the Gaels. I expect it to end badly for the Gaels.

So everyone decent was getting money for Gus’s and Famous Lunch? I believe that all stats from those games were erased. They focused on the players they talked about because they are in the record books. So, if a walkon got 2 points in one of those games, those stats are erased as well.

UGH! The hiring of Jimmy Patsos... The Gift that keeps on Giving! What a truly sad period in so may ways in the history of Siena Saints Basketball. I wish I could erase it from my memory as easily as the players contributions were erased from the Siena records book. Sad. Very Sad. the proverbial bad penney. I loathe that man and the damage he wreaked. Shame shame shame on him

If Siena's all in cost of patsos (ie salary, inadmissible benefits, etc) was $2.5 million, he charged Siena $63,000 per win.

Thanks Nola Saint for stepping up. I couldn't have said it better. You eventually reap what you sow.

So the players basically keep their stats and they just have to put an asterisk next to them in any media guides. So dumb.

Did any of the allegations involve a bartender from the Horshshoe in Saratoga?

Does it really? No titles were vacated and vacating anyway is stupid. We all know what Siena did on the court. Patsos was the worst coach in program history by far if you take everything into account.

One good thing.... patsos is now officially the worst coach in the history of Siena basketball and likely one of the worst in the entire country. No, it really isn't a "good" thing.
