As far as Jalen leaving, his mother and grandmother come to all the games. They come from Rochester and I commend them for that. If he were to follow Jamion, I don't think that would be doable unless his family has considerable resources. I think if he left, it would be to someplace that his family could travel to. I heard that he would stay if Carm were made coach. I don't have enough information to determine if that would be our best move or not. Hopefully, we will know more soon. This is why the only team that really scares me is Syracuse. Big step up for him, and much closer for his family to travel.

A10 looking horrible right now, if I had to pick the best team out of Iona, St Louis, and VCU it is without a doubt Iona right now. Good riddance JC, enjoy your crappy team in your new crappy conference.

HUGE step up...if you want to be a pro the worst thing is going to the ACC and playing 5-10 minutes a game until you're a senior. With Carm in charge I think Hart will do everything in his power to convince Jalen to stay.

With Carm set to take the position, I have definitely backed away from the edge a bit. This has given me a little time to calm down and think more about Jamion's move.
The only way I can think of his decision and NOT be angry about it is if I assume that he feels that he made a huge mistake in taking the Saints job to begin with. And the only way that makes sense to me is if it really is all about his son and the amount of time he is separated from him being located up here.
Whatever the motivations, however, this move lacks honorability. It shows a lack of respect for his players across the board, but especially WRT Carey and Burns.
I hope that all of these kids will be bolstered by the hiring of Carm and will stay and finish out their careers at Siena. I like this group and the incoming freshmen. Fingers crossed, with a tear in my eye.

When I first moved to DC in 80s it was all about Georgetown and ACC ... VCU & George Mason had a run w VT making noise on occasion ... although I was a G’town season ticket holder I did attend a few GW games w friends when their Alma mater came to play ... crowd size was determined by alums of visiting team ... my guess is JC saw GW as a better stepping stone to his next job ... cannot believe his statement that this was always his dream job

Well said Big Fan. Especially the part about "this move lacks honorability. It looks likes JC's actions speak a lot louder than his words. Agree total lack of respect for the players and IMO a certain lack of respect for the Saints program, one that he spoke so highly of this past year.
Siena1971, based upon the last year, why would anybody believe any statement that JC made???

JC wasn’t around long enough for us to learn what his other prime jobs he’d consider were but I highly doubt his “dream job” was/is an A10 one. Maybe that’s as far as his aspirations go and that’s ok, just wish we’d know the whole truth; especially if his main reason was to be closer to family. That’d make this whole thing spin in a better direction (for me any ways) and I’d have a lot more respect for his decision (even if I didn’t like his decision). I didn’t like Fran leaving but I was not angry with him nor did I feel betrayed.

My take is simply this: Pay scant attention to all the malarkey coming from the mouth of a newly hired coach. It's just pablum for public consumption.

All this dream job stuff is also nonsense. If Clemson or Georgia or some other heavyweights offered these guys more than a million guaranteed for 5 years plus all the perks they take it. That kind of dough is life changing. The pension contributions jump way up and the contacts you make in those circles are incredible too.

I just have to laugh at our culture today. You no longer have to be as good as your word. So many people like JC have no word except how can I hoodwink the next sucker. People talk of $275,000 as a piddling amount. Are you kidding me. What did JC's son learn. Lie through your teeth and take the money and run. I predict JC won't be married 3-5 years from now because his vows are as good as his word. His son will have learned from JC"s example and find himself in hot water. JC will be one of those coaches who took short cuts. In a way I think we are blessed to be rid of him because he simply was not the person he portrayed.

Well Mike, karma is a bitch but unless we all confirm both sides of the story which will never happen, I guess we will just have to wait and see how things play out for JC. In the interim, I'm only going to support Carmen, his staff and the kids who stick with him.

Without knowing all the details this is way over the top, and is a pretty petty post. Look I was one of his biggest proponents, and I feel he definitely handled this extremely poorly but to make predictions about the man’s relationship / wife and child... You’re coming off as a spurned teenager.

Honestly, what did he accomplish? 17 wins and 0 post season success. Let’s go get a chip with Carm next year.

I think it’s a little of both (family and money) but I also think he will be successful at gw and then land his dream job at Florida or at Texas or at UCLA etc you know the one one that offers him more money in a bigger conference ... Orr left after one year and did little but we were his first d1 head coaching job. Christian has a few titles, no reason to think won’t do it again.

He was hired away based on past success. Hopefully carm can make this right, quickly. Been a long decade.
