If Siena wins on Sunday they cannot finish lower than 6th mathematically. If Siena wins on Sunday and Monmouth loses at home to Quinnipiac - Siena's magic number for clinching a top 5 spot would be down to 1.
If Siena goes 3-0, Rider goes 2-0 and Quinnipiac loses one game Siena is the #1 seed. If all that happens but QU does not lose a game Siena is the #2 seed.
Just win baby on Sunday... Marist will be on short rest after a tough home loss vs. St. Peter's.

Just keep winning baby.

Canisius hanging on to win against Monmouth tonight was big from a tiebreaker standpoint. Now it's up to the Saints to hold up their end and get the win on Sunday.
Do that, and we're in good position heading into the final weekend of the season.
And given the preseason expectations, just the concept of being in contention to win a title with two games to play, I'd say qualifies as a minor miracle.
One game at a time though.

I’m not big on the pay to play C tournaments. Who says we have to pay?

With a 250+Net and a .500 record would we even get in?

I’m not big on the pay to play C tournaments. Who says we have to pay? Most likely .... if we go this route, we will be paying for home games. I believe we were well into the 6 figures (approx $300k) for for JPs CBI run. Now if we choose to do it all on the road the only cost is travel related. If we do a combo home away factor in TU costs. I just don’t see much to gain here.

It’s not like they ran a deficit of 300k, tickets were sold to offset the cost plus sponsorship opportunities and a national tv appearance. This program has been down for so long I don’t get why fans wouldn’t want to see some non conference playoff basketball for a change.

Siena wins the regular season title if:
Siena wins out, Rider wins out, Quinnipiac loses once.

I’d definitely go and support like I did the last two, but if I’m the administration I’m weighing the benefit. A lot of schools decline these, If they decided to pack it in at season’s end I totally get it!

Just as a side note the 4 C games at the TU have not been well attended, not sure about the overall interest vs cash layout for these 3rd and 4th tier tournaments stony brook 2500 penn st 3500 Ill St 3900 morehead st 2000 Maybe you play them at the Arc, get the students on board and the limited seats gets the general public more interested. Fresno St at the Arc was a nice college basketball atmosphere .....

What type of mergin they want. Don’t forget they want NCAA games so they might take less, charge less, to host games if they have open date. Who know depends on how the team does.

Fresno St at the Arc was a nice college basketball atmosphere ..... I’d assume ARC is out of the question. Back then the ARC held 4K. Now ARC only holds 2K. Would have to be played at TUC unless tickets are $50 or so. One reason for first “C” tournament was it was sort of a last minute thing from fan interest before some fans made other plans. Second “C” tournament (Moorehead) people we’re disinterested anyway. I’d find it hard to believe that “if” Siena went to a “C” tournament this season that we wouldn’t hit 5-7K, simply because of this year’s fan interest. The point is moot anyway because we’re either going to NIT or NCAA tournament anyway.

Updated standings-
Iona 11-6 Quinnipiac 10-6 Canisius 10-6 Siena 10-6 Rider 10-6 Monmouth 9-8 Marist 7-9 Manhattan 7-9 Niagara 5-11 St. Peter's 5-11 Fairfield 5-11
If Siena wins one more game or Monmouth loses one more game Siena will finish at least 5th.
If Siena goes 2-0 and Rider goes 2-0 - Siena is the #2 - Siena goes 2-0 and Rider goes 2-0 and Quinnipiac loses a game Siena is #1.
If Siena goes 2-0 they can't finish lower than 3rd.
Remaining MAAC games:
Wed 2/27: Niagara at Canisius, 7:30pm
Fri 3/1:
Quinnipiac at St. Peter's, 7pm Iona at Rider, 7pm Monmouth at Manhattan, 7pm Marist at Fairfield, 7pm Siena at Canisius, 9pm (ESPNU)
Sun 3/3:
Fairfield at St. Peter's, 1pm Manhattan at Quinnipiac, 2pm Rider at Marist, 2pm Siena at Niagara, 2pm
Who would've thought Siena would be in this position. We might be in the driver's seat for first if not for the Iona second half meltdown or a guy going nutso last Sunday. But anyone would have signed for this with two games left to go in November.
