Classy move by Carm. Best of luck Jalen! My wish is that Jalen gets in NBA scouts radar this year. They provide constructive feedback on what that’d like him to improve upon. Then after a full 4 years at Siena guiding Siena to greater heights never seen before, gets drafted in the first round (top 15) after he graduates. Has a long NBA career. That way everyone’s a winner (Siena fans and Jalen)!!!

Sounds like a goodbye to me?! Not at all. His workouts begin this weekend. The mantra is Siena basketball is a “players program” and that means showing support all of the way. I’m sure Carm is trying to use it in recruiting too. Anyway will be glad when Jalen officially withdraws and we sign some good players and we can look towards the 2019-20 season!

Sounds like a goodbye to me?! Most people say "Goodbye" when friends, family, co-workers, or customers depart from their normal routine for a short period. "Farewell" has a more long lasting flavor and I don't see any hint of "a farewell" in Coach's supporting send off - remember, he's counting on Jalen experiencing and learning a lot on someone else's dime...he'll be back, better than ever

Lots of doubters and negativity. We have a coach who is handling the situation very well. He is supporting his player,it will return dividends for the young man and the program. No matter what happens CARM is running a players program. Recruits will learn that. We continue to build.

But that doesn't change the fact Pickett will be told to move up to a higher conference so the "NBA" can get a better look at him. If he plays this year at Siena it will be his last. Just like Molson at Canisius, he tested the water after 1st year and left for a bigger conference after second year.

Just like Molson at Canisius, he tested the water after 1st year and left for a bigger conference after second year. That’s not happening. He’s not going to be told to transfer and he’s not transferring. Pickett isn’t going to sit a year, break momentum. If he transfers up theres’s absolutely no guarantee of playing time, how well he would do stepping up etc.... All risk, minimal reward. Lillard - Weber St/Big Sky and McCollum - Lehigh/Patriot both from mid major programs and lesser conferences had no issue making it to the NBA. Being at Siena or transferring has very little impact now. Siena’s served it’s purpose and will continue to do so as long as he chooses to stay. The endgame is to get a shot at the NBA . Pickett’s received tons of national recognition. He’s already receiving one audition and if unsuccessful this go around he’ll have one more coming. Step one - accomplished. Pretty simple.... You’re either good enough or you’re not and it won’t take long for the pros to figure it out and they don’t need him to transfer up to find out! These evaluations are not rocket science and the NBA can determine quickly if you can cut it or not.

These evaluations are not rocket science and the NBA can determine quickly if you can cut it or not. Accurate. Molson has no shot at the NBA - Jalen does. Plus Canisius has issues - Reece also bolted. Jalen will be 20 in October and has already did a year at prep school. There’s no way he’s sitting out a year. If he has a big year in 2019-2020 it could be his last at Siena but that’s because he is a legitimate NBA player. We will play a good schedule next year and the best publicity he can get is taking Siena to the NCAA tournament.

Great chance Jalen is back this year. Let’s just enjoy him for one more year and let him do what he wants to do. Get paid to play basketball. Whether it’s the G-League or Europe, he ll be cashing checks next year. College isn’t for everyone. Best of luck to him!

Perhaps the G-league if he's drafted and/or gets a good deal next year (I read many 1st rounders play in the G league to start their NBA careers like the Italian kid from Nova). Personally I think he's going to have a huge year and be on the first round radar in 2020 while hopefully leading Siena to a VERY special season.

I won't start counting on Pickett being on Siena until June. Right now, I'm assuming worst case scenario for Siena until proven otherwise.
