Maybe we can also trick Rhode Island into a 2 for 1 and not mention that the first game road game will be part of the Jamaica event.

Hoping Knicksaint can confirm if the team is indeed playing in the Jamaica tournament. If so it is shaping up to be a decent field as North Texas is the final host team that has been added to the event. As of now the teams booked are LSU(SEC), URI(A-10), Utah State(MW), North Texas(C-USA) and North Carolina A&T(MEAC)

It’s about 20 minutes from my house. Saw Iona play unt a couple of years ago.

The last I heard, playing in Jamaica is not a certainty. I was told There is the possibility of an exempt at Ohio State which could get us a couple of home games, but I have not found any stories about it. It also appears that there are some attractive regional opponents who may be willing to start series in Albany, although I have no names. Therefore, it is possible that we do not play in an exempt event.

Siena to play at Xavier on Nov. 8 - could be the opener or they could play someone on 11/5 or 11/6.
This could be part of the tournament at KS mentioned with Ohio State. Two HM games and perhaps get a home game out of it.
Throw in a likely west coast money game and Siena will have three HM games - excellent expose for Jalen to play "up" competition and help with Siena's NET rankings.

You would think the Times Union would have at least caught wind of this before Xavier goes and makes it official.

Xavier is playing in the Charleston Classic so it will not be part of an exempt event at Ohio State, assuming that there is one. The Ohio State schedule is not out yet.
I think we will open at home on November 5 (Tuesday).

Correct-- I believe we'd play Ohio State as part of the exempt event perhaps the 10th or 11th staying out in Ohio, then we'd get 1-2 home games and 1-2 road games as well against other mids. General format of these MTE's are 1 HM, 4 MM's, everyone plays each other, no trophy on the line.

Just heard no MTE for this year.
I don't think I've ever seen a 1HM, 4MM event. If there were one, the HM would get four home games and two of the MM teams would get 1 home and 2 away and the other two 2 home and 1 away. The closest thing to that I am aware of is a 2HM, 3MM event like the one that Siena and Albany played in two seasons ago.

It’s not a tournament. The big school hosts 4 mid-major teams and turn it into an MTE and all the mids play each other. Basically, you break the system. If you don’t play an MTE you are limited to I think 28 games vs 31 games with the MTE. So it’s advantageous for MM’s who were just looking for a HM money game to then be able to play more games and fill out a schedule.

Too bad I like the extra two games (we’ve been playing 31 game regular seasons for the past several years). Siena is scheduled to be in the Orlando tournament in Thanksgiving of 2020. It’s 29 regular season games without the MTE. With the MAAC going back to 20 games that’s nine non-conference games for 2019-2020. So far we have- Home: St. Bonaventure Away: Xavier, Harvard, Colgate, Cal Poly So we’ve got four games to schedule with one presumably on the west coast on the Cal Poly trip - I would expect the other three to be at home.
