I like Sky's enthusiasm but I believe he is somewaht delusional. Even before Kahils injury we were going to be putting up a roster of mainly D2/D3 (or low D1) talent players against teams that actually recruited D1 players in the past several years. With that being said, and now with Kahil being out, I will enjoy any wins we get, as I fear there will be very few. I hope I am wrong, but I believe it is reality. Meanwhile I will support the coaches and team and look for enthusiasm, effort, growth, discipline and even hope to see the team have a little fun on the court (wouldn't that be a change from recent history?).

We had 8 wins last year with 15 different starting line ups. All JP did was piss into the wind and hope he didn't get wet. The number of games we lost last year because of poor coaching is uncountable. Talent aside with good coaching I can't see why we can't do AT LEAST 50% better...12 wins minimum. We are not playing ACC teams, we are playing MAAC teams. If we can't win 1/3 of our games we better give up. And we've now lost our 6 top scorers off of that team! To expect improvement of 50% improvement is asking a lot. There is a reason that the 11 MAAC coaches who know more about basketball than we do picked Siena to finish last. It is going to be a very tough year. We should all just enjoy everything that is non-Patsos this year, look for improvement from the returning players under the new system, hope we have two or three impact freshman, and not get too caught up in wins. 10 wins and not finishing last in the MAAC would be a great coaching job this year, let's save the high expectations for 2019-2020 and expect a championship caliber team in 2020-2021. Those are more reasonable expectations.

I agree in part with Siena69 and Scott's assessment but because of JP's pathetic coaching we have no idea of the talent we have. I would agree that the OOC might be dismal and we may only pick up a few wins but once the players get the system they will shine. With JC's Mayhem system with the use of multiple players I see Hewitt type results where if we were 10 points behind with 5 minutes to go you knew we were going to win because the other team would run out of gas. The players we have are almost all the type JC want for his system. They are long and can hit the 3 and it appears they have all bought into system. I am not looking at it as a player development but as a team development....the sum of all parts...

Everything I am reading here clearly resonates the type of attitude we should be hearing from real Siena fans. We all want to win but true fans hang in there when times get tough. This year's team success can not be based on it's record but on how our staff develops it's young players in a new system. Build a cohesive program with the type of camaraderie that has been displayed by the team and its coaches, add in strong recruiting over the next three years and Siena will be back. With what has gone on over the past 6 to 7 years, only a moron (or a troll) would use solely a losing record this season as an excuse to start "pissing and moaning."

I’d rather win 8 games and Pickett, Georges, and Sloan look great than win 12-14 carried by Bayer, Fisher, Smithen, etc.
This year is all about development. Lets see what the freshmen have.

Coaching is a big difference-maker in college hoops. Despite all the losses, I'm expecting 12 or more wins overall. The MAAC is not the ACC; we could go .500 very easily in-conference.

I would be shocked if the team won less than 10 games.

staying positive, keep expectations reasonable (and I know that it can be a different definition for each of us)............but as much as JC will bring Mayhem to the TUC, we have players on this roster from the last regime that don't have that skill set..............we won't likely see the full effectiveness of the new system until JC has all his recruits in the fold............

I would be shocked if the team won less than 10 games. Fran only won 15 his first year and had Antoine Jordan, Kojo Mensah, Kenny Hasbrouck, Tay Fisher, and David Ryan. Any one of those guys would be the best player on this team. And that coaching job by Fran was one of the greatest I have seen. Single digit wins is a very real possibility.

Hard to disagree with much of this, with the unknown being the new freshmen. Could be some surprises.

That's a good point...of course it would be nice to win 12-15 and have Pickett, Seymour and Darwiche emerge with Smithen, Fisher, Bayer all help out as solid supporting players. I think Manny Camper could be a potential wildcard. Right now it doesn't look good on paper but let's see what these players look like in an actual system. They have been woefully coached so far in their careers. Not saying they'll be stars but you'd be surprised what good coaching will do.

They play 8 games against teams ranked in the bottom 100 last season. Not saying they will win all of those, but this coach has never lost as many games as you are suggesting. I’m highly confident in a very low barish double digit win season.
