I read today on Maac board over the last 25 years Siena is 390-389, could that really be possible? If true the attendance numbers are even more impressive and fan expections are way out of wack. Well let's go last 24 years (after Deane left) Beyer (3 years) 22-59 Hewitt (3 years) 66-27 Orr (1 year) 20-11 Lanier (4 years) 58-70 McCaffery (5 years) 112-51 Buonaguro (3 years) 35-59 Patsos (5 years) 77-92 Total (24 years) 390-369 (.514) Very average record because of some horrible coaches but also 5 NCAA tournaments (3 wins) and 2 NITs (3 wins) in the last 20 years. Let's hope Jamion Christian can win like Hewitt and McCaffery and when he moves on we have a good succession plan in place. Hopefully by then we have a new AD too.

When we're bad, we're horrific. When we're good, we're fantastic.
Fan expectations are what they are because of the obvious potential when Siena is good. I don't think the expectations are out of whack. If we just had 2 good coaches back-to-back I think you'd see the potential turn to reality. I don't think the admins have any desire to go much beyond the MAAC level but I do think A10 is a possibility at some point. Had Mitch been Fran2 I think the A10 offers Siena over Davidson. We don't have nearly the total resource package to compete much higher (advertisers, wealthy donors and alums). My wife went to Providence - a school about the same size as Siena. We aren't even in the same solar system as they are re: resources - hence why they're in the Big East.

Beyer and Buonagouro were left behind asssitant coaches, who were hired by lazy and biased priests and AD.
Siena has the potential if the BOT really wants to make the right hires.
Siena missed a golden opportunity after Fran left.
We now can only start over again.
