Let's say Nico comes back. That means we'd have two scholarships (Prince and Smithen), right? Bentley was only given a scholarship because of Prince, so hopefully that opens up too. New guy needs at least 3. Need shooters and athletes. Does anyone know if him and Nico have a relationship going back to high school?

All positive from here but JP left Jamion a worse mess than Beyer left Hewitt, Lanier left Fran and Mitch left Jimmy. Don't know if it's close either.
That said I'm excited to see what the players can do in Jamion's system. I expect Prince to leave but I think Penn/Horn come back. Smithen, Degnan will be gone. Everyone else PROBABLY stays.
We shall see with Nico - I can see both arguments for bring him back and not bring him back.
I expect Jamion to have 3-4 scholarships to work with. Interesting to see if any of his incoming MSM kids come with him.

Question is how many in the current roster actually play in the JC style. Everyone says Horn has to stay, but yet many here say he is not athletic and slow of foot. Are we sure Prince is gone? How many players will the new coach possibly bring. Has to some nervous players right now at Siena.

A lot of people said Cantamessa, Deters, Osinski etc couldn't play uptempo....Horn will have to get in better shape, but yes he can play that style and With his 3 point shooting ability can thrive I like the hire, is Jamion perfect, no way but he has a lot of potential - excited to see Jamion recruit, JP NEVER leveraged Siena's recruiting advantages, I have a feeling Jamion will, looking at his recruits he was recruiting above NEC level. As for comparison to Tom Moore-- you mean the Tom Moore who was at program with most resources in the NEC for 6 years and never once made the NCAA's- in short NO comparison at all

We have the uptempo pressing coach-- we need to keep Penn and Horn - somehow get athletic wing and maybe athletic 4, if Jamion can do that he can turn Siena around on a dime. First time in 8 years I have actual optimistic feelings about Saints!! I agree with having the optimistic feelings! It's been a rough 8 years!

Unless he's got some slam dunk recruits I'm all in favor of bringing everyone back that wants to come back. Give them all a year to play under him and if they don't pan out then you don't have to renew the scholarships. Not a fan of just telling kids in May they aren't good enough to play here anymore without even giving them a chance under the new coach. It is going to be a big adjustment year as these kids have clearly not been coached in man to man defense since high school and they are going to need to excel at that now to get on the court. Let's see who is up to the challenge.

First time in 8 years I have actual optimistic feelings about Saints!! Maybe uptempo. Offensively Mt. St. Mary's played at a very slow pace the last two years. In any case, they will press for 40 minutes, mostly M2M. Players will need to get in a lot better shape. Looking at his adjusted tempo...he's averaging 190. That's a nice pace as it can limit mistakes and still put points on the board but his teams traditionally haven't been very uptempo.

I would love to see what he could do with our young athletic players like Camper and Bentley.

MSM's KenPom under Christian - 211, 209, 226, 263, 209, 238 for an average of 226. That's pretty good despite playing a brutal non-conference schedule with a ton of guarantee games and with a small budget and poor facilities. Mount's Ken Pom stats in order from 2012-13 season to 2017-18 season: Offense via Ken Pom was 175, 127, 282, 330, 269, 191 (average of 229) Defense via Ken Pom was 250, 292, 156, 127, 151, 281 (average of 210) Tempo via Ken Pom 325, 245, 145, 276, 39, 107 (average of 190) "Luck" via Ken Pom 3, 110, 78, 259, 20 (average of 96) (Maybe we're due for good luck!) Keep seeing people say MSM had a small budget...their mens basketball budget according to equity in athletics website (.gov) was almost 2 million dollars. It's on the lower side in the MAAC but higher than St. Peters, Marist, Niagara and Rider I think and within 100k of the next 4 schools.

According to the below link: MSM budget in 2015-2016 was about $1.7m while Siena's was over $3m. Only St Peters was less (and that is why St Peters just lost their coach to another MAAC team that spends more)

With all due respect, I'm going to throw my lot in with the actual Department of Ed website this info may be slightly outdated.
