Has requested his release per Singelais. Not surprising. New coach will have to work to keep him.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see more, we’re gonna need a guy in here with solid D1 recruiting capability and connections.

The Siena athletics spokesman said a second unidentified player also asked for a release to transfer and "provided the name of the school he wished to speak with and permission to contact was granted at that time."

Despite his flaws, I do believe Prince can be a dominant player at the MAAC level with some development. I'm hoping whoever is named can re-recruit him successfully.

I'm not a fan of recruiting a player who is already part of the Siena student body and when he asks for his release. Could be great kid, a great player, etc. but if you are already part of the school and want to transfer because of a coaching change your are definitely at the school for the wrong reasons or have such an ego that you'll only be happy if the new coach plays the I want you game. Either way if Prince, Nico, x, y,z players want to leave I say good luck with your future and move on. New coach will have plenty of schollies and PT to offer up to top MM / low major recruits.

The longer we go without a head coach the more we will see this happen. But no player is bigger than program, we need to get right coach

In Singlais's article, Oduro's prep school coach says "Siena is not doing right by a kid..." But what school gives a blanket release? Siena asked for him to provide them "with a list of schools he'd like to be in contact with which we have not yet received." Siena has always granted a release, but it's understandable and only reasonable that it has to have some contingencies-(can't transfer to another league school or rival)-like a non-compete clause in business. Not sure I like the tone of those in Oduro's camp. He was given the keys to the kingdom and treated, well,- princely.

My humble opinion, he is okay, not really great. When RR was a freshman, by mid-year he was clearly the the fifth horse of Fran's apocalypse. Prince might have been #7 or #8 off the bench on those teams. Siena can do better.

While I understand that it has been Siena's standard practice to require a list of schools from a player looking to transfer out, I think the present situation should waive that restriction.
If the reported timeline is accurate, the first "issue" was reported in February and an investigation was supposedly started immediately. As that investigation progressed, new "issues" were made known. We are now almost at the end of April and the cloud of uncertainty has been weighing on the players for far too long.
They reportedly have no access to ANY of their previous coaches - I realize they are all adults and should be well able to exist on their own on a college campus but I do believe they need some guidance re their next steps - stay or explore transfer, to say nothing of the skill and conditioning drills needed to improve their games.
I would think that by now either all of the assistants have been found culpable or not. Siena should show them the door or remove the cloud from one or more that the investigation may have cleared.
The Administration has had two consecutive dismal hiring failures and I'm sure that doesn't give the remaining players any guarantee that they'll get it right this time. Waiting around and then meeting a coach that might not want you or that you might not like is a big risk, a time dependent one.
Since Siena has done what appears to be a poor job protecting these kids, I think they should be allowed to pursue other options. That pursuit could be quelled depending on when the Administration gets off its ass and announces the new head coach.
Exams are coming up and these kids need to know what their futures hold. Seems like the hiring process is using the same play Oh-no used to manage the shot clock!

Sammy Friday just became the guy....and my prediction.....he won't disappoint.
I for one think when given the chance he will produce more than Prince would have.
With new coach, and new opportunity, he will shine. A good foul shooter with a good low post game who gets offensive rebounds and can get to the line, if he works hard on his strength and endurance this summer, he will end up being a two year double-double guy for Siena.
