I’ve been saying all along “We’ll Be Okay” and now I know I was right. Just have to keep the Siena faith and continue supporting the team; no matter what. I’m glad to see the optimism but we are not okay. Nothing has been accomplished yet. It’s all emotions and not much else. I’m not an expert on judging talent but I’ve been around long enough to know it’s rarely as good as some project. I’ve done my part, I’ve made a donation to show my approval of the JP termination and I renewed my season tickets. Hopefully we get back on top and we stay there.

Winning/loosing, talent, coaching are only a few of the things people consider with “We’ll Be Okay”. Other factors could be the fans base is excited once again for Siena Basketball season. Plus there’s probably 100 more possible explanations/reasons. Basically, no matter how bad people thought it was I knew “eventually” things would be ok again (ok for whatever people would want the ok to stand for). In other words, I never thought Siena would stay “not ok” forever. That’s why I didn’t loose faith or get too hung up during the not so ok times.

Lets take a look.... 1 What is the single biggest factor for a program at the college level? ESPECIALLY the mid major level. - Coaching. The dead weight in the chair has been replaced. Answer... Christian and staff 2 What is the next most important factor? Recruiting. Whoever is the answer at #1 needs to be ready, able and willing to turn over every stone and accept relentless rejection to get those who say yes. The ability to identify talent that fits your system. Answer... Christian and staff 3 Next is a system that attracts fans and recruits alike. Answer Christian and staff now we all know college basketball will take a couple of seasons to right the ship EVEN WITH (1, 2 and 3 addressed) after something like we've witnessed because it does take time to properly balance the roster with appropriate talent for the system. Everything may not yet be alright... but a LOT has indeed been done without one single game having yet been played in this new era. It takes a while to recover from A) Mitch - who although perhaps a nice guy was one of the single worst head coaching selections I have ever seen at this level and B) the confidence man Patsos who is a close second in my opinion to Mitch. He was nothing more than a used car salesman where most people could see through his bullshit (with the exception of the Siena front office and a few fans out here). Ive never seen a less genuine person as a head coach at any program. Most parents are going to smell that crap and never hitch their wagon to it. Things are like that moment right after a severe storm.... the clouds have broken, the sun is shining, birds are chirping. Now you have to clean all the crap up off the lawn and fix any other storm damage. Much of that has been completed or is under way.

Nicely done Saints Fan! However,I have a small disagreement with you. I believe Patsos was the worst coach Siena has ever had:1. how he treated the players ( not at all honest); 2. as the face of Siena college. I understand that the head of an academic department is more important than a basketball coach, but he is practically never paraded in front of the general public as much as the " chairman" of the most prominent sport.

They just tarped off the entire upper deck and the best Siena has been picked in any preseason MAAC poll is 8th, we still have a long ways to go to get back to okay.

For me personally, I don’t feel like I have to “defend” my position as to why I continued to show my support to the Siena Program during the not so ok times; primarily due to all the positive comments/attitude from Saints fans in general now. It’s great to be a Siena fan again because I’m not fighting within the Siena fandom any more.

Do we know for sure that the entire top section is tarred off? Someone recently told bd that when they or their friend renewed their upper deck ticked, there was no indication that they weren’t receiving their actual seats. Meaning they’re assuming they locked into their old seats in upper deck. Are they only preventing new ticket purchases from going to upper deck until lower bowl is filled or are the moving 100% of the current upper deck season ticket holders down stairs into the corners? The price difference between upper deck middle is way more than lower deck corners. What happens to all the upper deck people that renewed last spring/early summer? Do they now get refunds? I’m not convinced they’re tarpons off the entire upper deck. Is there an article or officyannohncement that I may have missed?

I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel as an oncoming train ... I’m happy at this point & excited for the season to begin ... let’s all put the angst on ice until Jan 1 ... Siena will have a number of games under their belt & we’ll be able to assess for better or worse IMO
P.S. This excludes recruiting analyses 😇

I went on Ticketmaster - no seating available for sale in the upper deck.

Ok, ok, now I see the reference. I called Siena Tickets and yes everyone’s correct they reconfigured (for at least this upcoming season) no upper deck (except the premium upper deck renewals which are still honored - First row center section(s). That’s how some were able to Renee their upper deck.
For all we know this could be the only year they do this, so let’s not only pack the TUC this year but let’s get the season ticket holder up to say 5-6k to force them to open the upper deck for next year.
Go Saints!!!

JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE HOW THEY'LL DRIVE FANS AWAY FROM THE PROGRAM.

JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE HOW THEY'LL DRIVE FANS AWAY FROM THE PROGRAM. It might possibly drive away a couple (very small few IMO) but the new hire has already seen hundreds get season tickets who didn’t have them last season. I’m ok with the limited seating (for this year as a test and see approach); but I also will expect them to open the upper deck once we start winning and fan interest starts to peek again. IMO, fans who make excuses as to why they no longer want to attend games will find some/any reason possible to justify their decision. Fans who don’t care as much about finding reasons why not to go will come out in full force. Again JMO.

I hope they reconsider. This is not a smart decision. After so much turmoil they needed to take an inclusionary approach, not an exclusionary one. When Hewitt was here fan interest quickly exploded, which will not be possible under the current arrangement., also it will be even harder to convince programs with large fan bases to come here.

I will be the dumb one and ask the question... "why does Siena feel the need to do this?" What do they get out of it? Is this in deference to a small college coach's vision who has never heard the TUC rock... upper deck and all? This is a very strange move.

Could the TU administration done this so they don't have to hire so much staff?
