Mr. Siena would love it.
And Papi would have to up his troll game with one of his SU heros coming to Siena.
McNamara was a terrific player but he's kinda risky moreso than Beilein.
We shall see - still think it is Beilein's job to lose.

If we’re going this route bring in Chris Caputo

If we’re going this route bring in Chris Caputo I would agree... McNamara would be a distant third behind Beilein and Caputo. But I do think it will be Beilein in the end.

Wonder why all the aversion to McNamara? He's not my top choice but I don't think he would be bad. It's just too risky IMO. The next hire has to be a good one with minimal risk.
Beilein is young and upcoming but still has head coach experience that's why I favor him plus the pedigree. Caputo is very attractive not that much older than either McNamara or Beilein but he has no HC experience either. One problem with McNamara is he has never left Boeheim's side. That's problematic.

dailygazette.com/article/2018/04/13/patsos-resigns-at-siena“If I look back,” D’Argenio said, “maybe we could have taken a little more time.” D’Argenio said there is no timeline for when Siena will hire its next coach. The school, he said, won’t be “swayed by false deadlines” and will exercise more patience than it did after Mitch Buonaguro was dismissed five years ago.D'Arg doesn't make sense. Mitch was fired March 12, 2013 and Jimmy was hired April 2, 2013 - that's three weeks. They took PLENTY of time. His excuses are weak. Just hire the right guy. Not about "taking time". What a BSer.

Not sure how I feel about that. I'm sure he could recruit, but a big gamble has never been a head coach at any level Beside being an outstanding player have you forgotten he is the son of a successful coach. And I believe he's a level headed guy. I want a guy like him that played so hard in that 6 overtime game in the Big East tourney. He'll drive his players to exhibit that same drive. thespun.com/news/gerry-mcnamara-siena-job-opening

If I remember correctly d’arg was laser focused on jimmy too. You kind of knew two weeks in that jimmy was going to be getting the job or at the very least going to be the runner up. I was pulling hard for Paulsen at the time based on his success at bucknell and his wife’s ties to the area. I has hopeful (probably a childish hope) that he would have success and based on his wife’s insistence on staying home that they would grow roots in Albany. I had a good sense early on d’arg was locked onto jimmy. If I knew it then most people must have because I’m quite dumb! Disappointing that d’arg has revisionist history now. What I know of him is he’s a nice and honest man. I would hate to see him sully his name with misrememberances (thank you roger Clemens) to try and hold onto his job. He should just own it, learn from it and hope that the board doesn’t find his hiring of jimmy and the extensions to be a fireable offense.

Not exactly, Fr. KEVIN was all about Jimmy. Darg error with Jimmy was the extension when the embers of the tire fire were just being fueled. With the CBI, Patsos ego got even bigger and the wheels were set in motion for semi dormant self destructive behaviors. The staff frat party started and now the rest is history.

D’Arg in my belief needs to retire, one of the hangers on. Fire him no, just let him glide off in the wind, thank him for his years, his time has come and gone. A gentle nudge and he should be gone.
