I caught the news conference on the TU live stream on Facebook and here is what interested me - all the time he was speaking, there was a running commentary by people on Facebook watching him talk and the comments were 100 % against him - comments like "liar" "you can't mean that" "your actions don't back up your words" and other stuff like that. People were blasting him the whole time. I think he needs to realize that the tide has turned against him in a big way and that it is time to take his show elsewhere.

This will be over before you know it- as soon as Siena gets the conclusion from the private investigation, Jimmy will be fired, he is entitled to his due process. It's easy for fans to say fire him today, Siena must follow due process. Jimmy did what he had to do today, nothing more. I expect he will be fired shortly , Siena will hire a new coach and from Siena fans POV this will be done- the lawyers will settle it, probably for less than Jimmy was offered. This won't hurt Siena in long term any more than all the so called experts said when Siena wouldn't let Kojo go to Duquesne would hurt Siena 10 years ago. If I remember correctly Siena went on to the greatest 4 year run in its history right after that. The longer this goes the only person it hurts is Patsos Tony, sorry but Siena will be hurt if this issue drags on and if fact they already have been. Any outsider looking in and watching how Siena has handled this have to be thinking that Siena is run by a bunch of buffoons. Also why would any decent recruit with offers even think about coming to Siena while this circus is going on? Now if they conclude the investigation this weekend and fire Sir James Monday AM then yes Siena can right the ship but if it takes anywhere near the 30 days that Pastos lawyer hinted forget it.

Let the game begin. All this is is posturing for the inevitable termination, most likely resignation, face saving agreement. Anyone who has been involved with high end earners, power brokers termination know from experience this is normal. Even mid level management can drag termination out for weeks to try to sweeten the pot. Just a phase to try to reduce the allegations right now.
Far as the school, the admin., AD , BOT to put it in the vernacular could F up a wet dream. If anything the AD should be gone as soon as Patsos letter of separation is signed. The president at the end of the academic year. The board should just resign over the present state of the school.

Agree 100%, today was all about Jimmy going on public record denying the charges. I do not believe we will see any further leaks this weekend- the name calling and stealing funds are enough to terminate Jimmy for Just cause and he and his lawyer know it. Jimmy is also aware a lot more dirt on him that has not been released. Jimmy is not stupid; he knows he will never coach at Siena again. So with that said it’s all about squeezing as much money as he can from Siena and at same time saving his reputation as much as humanly possible. I expect either settlement or Jimmy fired within a short period of time . It is very much in Jimmy’s self-interest to settle before he gets fired

JP in a no win situation, all, about negotiations so he can gain employment somewhere.

I get he wants his full contract. And I want Siena to win the national championship. But somethings are not always realistic when the deck is stacked against you. And it's stacked against JP from all indications.

Dick Walsh is far from a "slimy." attorney. He is a well regarded and well liked labor and employment lawyer who limits his practice to employee and union clients. He fight's hard but fair. With him involved, as opposed to some of the "bomb throwers" who like to hear themselves talk in the media, maybe there is a chance for a negotiated buyout. Okay, maybe not a slimy attorney. I don't know the man. But it WAS a slimy move if, as others have stated, Jimmy had other team managers standing behind him at the press conference. An obvious attempt to ostracize the kid whom he verbally abused.

This needs to be wrapped up, settle up and both parties need to walk away.

I agree with much of this - the fact that this became public at this stage will be a red flag to the coaching community. No doubt Jimmy is done, but making it public this soon gave him the opportunity to publicly position himself to secure as much of his contracted pay as possible. This is all about positioning now, and Siena screwed up by going public so soon. What they should have done, in my opinion: Finish the investigation covertly, go to Jimmy with the findings and let the attorneys negotiate the separation agreement, all out of the public eye and out-of-court. Guessing NDA's would have protected the school's image regarding coach muckraking and would have protected Jimmy from further reputational harm, which WOULD HAVE BEEN A NEGOTIATION LEVER for reducing the buyout. Once an agreement is reached, announce Siena and Patsos have mutually agreed to part ways. No public sh*t show, and everyone is better off, less the side benefit of shining a light on the mental health issue. Frankly, I think that small documentary did a nice job of that, anyway.
