How long does Beilein wait this out? Not long. The school screwed this up bigtime. This court procedure will take weeks, and we, as a program, dont have that much time. JP needs to fired and Beilein given the reins to get to work. Ugly court case where everyone loses goes on. EVEN if the school "wins" by not paying him a dime, it still loses.
750k on Mar 6th should have been issued with his pink slip, and the school would be in a much better position. They screwed this whole thing up.

Does anyone know if any current or former players were there? I know about the managers. I believe he mentioned in passing that they weren't allowed to be there...if memory serves, he was kind of rambling on about rules.

I disagree that this will be a drawn out spectacle. Patsos made public comments denying, so he's on record saying nothing ever happened. To ensure concrete evidence doesn't come about, a buyout can be negotiated with a confidentiality agreement, which will not cost JP a TV job. Taking on a long, enduring legal battle would ultimately cost him not only legal fees thus rendering additional wages won meaningless, but potentially cost him future employment. Spot on! I think Siena’s attorneys set this in motion earlier in the week. Patsos stands to lose the most...there’s not gonna be a court case it’ll kill what’s left of Jimbo’s career and he knows it! If he’s smart he keeps denying and the attorneys work out the details and settle he gets a few bucks, walks away and salvages his ability to work again. Press the issue and he’s ruined.

Taking out the personal emotions and feelings regarding the situation, JP and his lawyer did what they had to do given the circumstances. He could not just sit back while all these reports and investigations run wild in the media. Will be very interesting to see how this all plays out. As right of now he and his staff are still the coaches at Siena: www.sienasaints.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/coaches.html. Until Siena makes an official statement, everything else is just speculation. This is just further proof that the current administration cannot handle anything correctly. Sad state the College is in right now. Both on and off the basketball courts. Shameful.

Where is this taking place? At Pasto's lawyers offices. Scary that his attorney said it could take the next 30 days to play out!!! The legal issue will take a lot longer than that possibly. But he will be fired in the next week. I can't just about guarantee that. Siena gains nothing by waiting.

At this point, Patsos could be cleared of everything and he still can’t ever coach at Siena again. The damage is done. Now, Siena has to make the next move in this sick game of chess. I’d assume more leaks this weekend and he’s fired Monday or Tuesday. There’s absolutely no point in keeping him around when the only debate is how much Siena will pay, and any person with half a brain can see that clear as day. All you do is impinge Beilein’s effectiveness by waiting.

This will be over before you know it- as soon as Siena gets the conclusion from the private investigation, Jimmy will be fired, he is entitled to his due process. It's easy for fans to say fire him today, Siena must follow due process. Jimmy did what he had to do today, nothing more. I expect he will be fired shortly , Siena will hire a new coach and from Siena fans POV this will be done- the lawyers will settle it, probably for less than Jimmy was offered. This won't hurt Siena in long term any more than all the so called experts said when Siena wouldn't let Kojo go to Duquesne would hurt Siena 10 years ago. If I remember correctly Siena went on to the greatest 4 year run in its history right after that. The longer this goes the only person it hurts is Patsos

His defense now was the comments were "joking" and basically played dumb about the per diem. Give me a break!! Siena made mistakes - even hiring this fool. He'll be gone by next week and Beilein will be in.

Ugly but no reason not to move onto Beilein as Jimmy's is a "personal service contract" and no way a court would enjoin his termination, even with a claim of it being a hit to his reputation.

I thought the presser worked to JPs advantage. If Siena works this investigation like the past few coach searches and contract negotiations not only will JP be coach when the season starts, he'll have a raise, extension and a defamation settlement.
This is starting to look like a game of 21 and JP just said "hit me". Let's see what card the dealer throws down next.

Dick Walsh is far from a "slimy." attorney. He is a well regarded and well liked labor and employment lawyer who limits his practice to employee and union clients. He fight's hard but fair. With him involved, as opposed to some of the "bomb throwers" who like to hear themselves talk in the media, maybe there is a chance for a negotiated buyout.
