Let's all try to be honest here. IF verbal abuse is going to his fireable offense, it could/should have been done years ago. Only reason it wasn't was: 1) had a successful first year 2) wasn't owed 750k. Why this is suddenly an issue in year 5 is a joke. Your comments are reasonable. Your comments would be reasonable but this is the tip of the proverbial iceberg and you know it. This is a hardball play to negotiate before both parties look very bad for mismanagement if the flagship program on and off the court.

I see your point to a degree if you mean talking rude to players. But the mgr is 'handicapped', just a soph and I think it was reported in Feb. Quite a diff from kids he recruited, are healthy and as athletes are familiar with being pushed by coaches. But, still due process.

I love this program but there is no place for this anywhere. Can't believe this is what this once great program has come to but it's time to move on and this is the final straw. Time for D'Argenio to do the right thing and fire him within the next 24 hours and hire a coach who knows how to win. One of the most despicable things I've ever seen. Truly disgusted and embarrassed that we allowed actions like this to take place at all AD knew what was going on! He needs to go too!

It's ugly..some of that stuff has gotten back to parents and it was just a matter of time before it all came out

Man, I fall asleep and all hell breaks out. He’s gone, no way this story breaks and he returns. Interesting that it wasn’t the beat reporter or Iorizzo that broke the story. Agree that the timing is suspect, especially if complaint was back in February. Also really interesting that video of the kid ends up on YouTube a couple weeks before it breaks. Hopefully this settles quickly, will get really ugly if it doesn’t. No way PB’s father lets him take this job if this is still hanging over the program. Pete Iorizzo works for UAlbany. He left the TU about two years ago. You’re right, my bad. Hard to keep track 2000 miles away.

Look: it’s obvious why and when this is coming out. Siena is not doing this if we don’t go 8-24.
It’s also obvious that Patsos did some despicable things that he shouldn’t have done and put him in this position.

this may be tip of iceberg - he abused players badly too Why else would the best player step away from the team in the beginning of the season? He made Nico look like the problem....... all the while he was the culprit!!!! You people gotta read between the lines!! #staytunned

Well, there is the cause Siena needs to unload Patsos and his contract it could not afford to buy out. If smart, the school works out a small severance with Patsos so he doesn't cost the school a bundle of money in litigation and a court case where all the ugly details make it out in to the open and the school administration looks like total imbeciles for letting this guy on campus for five or six years.
D'Argenio should be shown the door for hiring this guy. There's no way he should be included in the coaching search. He's proven his incompetence over and over when leading these searches. I hope Beilein is not a done deal. I want to see a complete search where several qualified candidates are interviewed. Beilein has the pedigree. He looks like and up and comer, could probably get a 2-for-1 series with Michigan and could possibly land a Michigan transfer or two, especially if his father recruits over some of the members of his team who don't work out in the Big 10.
What makes me want tap the brakes on Beilein is he is a Division II coach. His record is 91-58, but why all of a sudden would Siena consider a Division II coach? Brian Beaury accomplished a hell of a lot more at St. Rose than Beilein has on the D-2 level, and the best Beaury could ever get was a complimentary interview with D'Argenio and his interview committee. Why all of a sudden would the school consider a Division II coach? All I can think is perception be damned, season tickets and such are not selling and all those empty seats this season put quite a scare into the administration. They're desperate to unload Patsos and take a chance on Beilein.
I have stated in the past my favorite is Kevin Boyle. Yes, he's coaching high school ball in Florida, but the teams he has recruited and coached n recent years would have easily won the MAAC. His teams are nationally ranked, he can recruit, has strong connections to the AAU circuit, develops players and all he does is win. He's making about $150,000 in Florida and is provided with a car and a house on campus. A contract in the $350,000 range where he gets to the be head guy, not an assistant, may draw his interest. Maybe he is content on the high school level and likes the Florida sunshine. But I have read in the past his dream job would be Seton Hall, his alma mater. Should he turn around Siena and experience some success, Seton Hall would certainly take notice.
If not Boyle, kick the tires of some of the young up and comers on the D-1 level. Maybe Beilein is the guy, maybe not, but Siena needs to make sure it does its due diligence rather than just grab the first piece of low hanging fruit. I do not have the confidence that D'Argenio can do that.

If jimmy is gone and the players have been interviewed..they may of knew this was coming..maybe the reason why we have not heard much about clareth transferring. Maybe he stays with the new coach whoever that may be The players that were leaving was all due to Patsos staying. I think the pg that signed should reconsider if Patsos is fired. Everyone might stay if Patsos goes

Doesn't matter at this point whether for just cause or not.
Whether it was Siena who leaked this out or not does not matter.
Now that it's out, Siena "has to" fire Rex.
There is no way that he can stay. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, if he is still here come next week or the week after, sponsors, advertisers, boosters, and many many more season ticket holders who will not want to be closely associated with a program who has a head coach with these type of allegations associated with him will fly the coup.
Just do it. There is no other choice so just get it done already.
