He has been ripping Siena fans for years... a lot of facts wrong in the majority of his articles too... wouldn’t pay attention to anything he writes.

also.. the CBI is bullshit. a tournament in which a bunch of mediocre to poor teams play for a "championship". Might as well as had a turd for a trophy. you buy your home games and Siena bought his way out of a losing season by purchasing a slew of home games for that tournament. Milking more $$ from the fan base cash cow to prop up a sub par coach. Patsos has the single most consistent stretch of sub par schedules since siena first moved to the MAAC. Hes essentially scheduling like Siena is back in the NEC.

You should try getting your facts straight. One would think as a "journalist" and I use that term lightly in our case, you would have some sense of responsibility to do so.

It's a nice jump-start for a program like we thought it was going to be at the time, but this is not something you hang your hat on.

Was it a significant achievement for a team that most (including you) felt would win 5 of fewer games that year, absolutely. But, I get it, that doesn't fit the narrative.

The teams we beat certainly had storied names and recognition to just about anyone who knows anything about college hoops. But, unless I missed something, NONE of those teams were playing in the important "N" post season events and that speaks to the "level" of the competition - we, along with others paid for home games; those that came into our arena apparently did not have the "confidence" of their schools to warrant an investment...the tournament and results were good for the school, the fan base and, more importantly, for the kids - too bad we didn't capitalize on that aspect. Think of it as more of a postponed extension of our OOC games...

Penn State 15-17 overall 6-12 in the big ten that year. lost to 16-14 Bucknell RPI 115 (heavily inflated thanks to the Big 10 schedule) Fresno State ... yet another team that had a sub .500 record pre-CBI at 15-16 Illinois State... .500 pre CBI at 15-15 we all like seeing the names. But I would hope most are savvy enough out here to see that A) these teams were big time in name only and B) when the CBI is your only invite... especially as a big name school... it says a LOT about the "quality" of your season. It is what it is... a quirky tournament for mediocre teams. it was a good confidence builder (or should i say... SHOULD HAVE BEEN) for a rebuilding program.

The article is a joke. Your words “Jimmy Patsos, a proven winner”. Jimmys career record is 222-227 (.494). One trip to the NCAA tournament. You’ve got to be out of your God damn mind. And great comparison to mike rice. Mike threw basketballs at kids heads. Sainted Jimmy only threw a player off his chair. Whatever credibility you had with me is gone. You should go and peddle your shitty wares elsewhere. Try talking to Guy F on the MAAC board. He’s as dilusional as you.

I’m not just going to say this is shit like everyone else because I think there are some valid points and I respect your work Jaden. The premise that Patsos was fired for losing is true. I don’t think anyone denies Siena wouldn’t be in this spot if he was having Fran-level success. But, Patsos deserved to be fired for his record. 2 20-loss seasons, 2 .500 years, and 1 20 win year. 2 straight really bad seasons relative to expectations at least. If he had less time on his contract, no one would bat an eye at firing him. Which goes back to the point I made that if Siena wanted him gone, they should have just paid him on March 6.

Respect Jaden’s work totally disagree on this article. But JP is the one who should’ve taken Siena’s one year offer on March 6. Why would Siena throw $750K away? JP is lucky they didn’t try and get all $1.1M back (which would’ve cost in legal fees) This was NOT manufactured in any way. He hung himself and did not think Siena would have the guts to use it against him. Well they did and we lost six weeks and JP got his reputation damaged (though not as badly as it could’ve been). He’s lucky he got $350K and nothing else out with a NDA. Anyway today is JP’s official resignation date. He’s gone and it’s time to find a great coach who will make Siena strong again, proud again and yes great again!

hmm ...you forgot one important record breaking fact: Jimmy owns not one but two 20 loss seasons making him the biggest loser ever! What an awesome accomplishment for the resume and so worthy of job retainment. You wrote this editorial like a shock jock piece to increase readership. Bravo. But you lost credibility and journalistic integrity by supporting a verbally and physically abusive bully who is also being investigated for literally stealing lunch money.

I am a proud JP Fluffer I have to believe it's 50/50 that's he's back next season. Why hasn't he been fired yet? Tick tock. They were still adding up the violations. He was done before he resigned
