things need to be sorted out, what the heck is the delay............honestly, if JP has a plan, ergo what players are leaving (whether they be shown the door or rather walking out on their own accord), then what exactly is all this dragging their feet...................the season ended in early March................programs that have a "proactive" approach to moving forward, and certainly one that just finished dead LAST in the MAAC standings, should be getting their SHEET in order pronto.............just another item that is just head scratching about how this staff goes about doing things.....................

You can sign over the limit. Scholarships don’t have to be cleared up until the end of June/early July. My guess is they give the players until after spring break off and then discuss that stuff with them. Siena can take commits from Timberlake, Welch, etc without others transferring first. We will have 2-3 scholarships to work with.

Again, you're looking just at Siena. Per VC, only 259 Transfers have been announced this year so far. Pundits are expecting the number to be somewhere between 800 to 1,000 as per normal. If that's the case, it is still early and there are a hell of a lot of dominoes still yet to fall. Siena has clear priority targets. It's clear to both the targets and to us. If said targets want time to review with their families etc.. do you rush them weeks before the signing period even begins? These kids don't act on a Sienahoops.com timeline. They act on their own.

I'm not going to stick up for everything Jimmy does...but you just don't call the spring recruiting season a failure on March 27 during spring break. Schools don't finalize rosters until August. The off season roller coaster is just starting. This is like declaring a loss during the tip off.

We don’t even know who is the coach for next year. Siena needs to shit or get off the pot by the end of the week. It has been eerily quiet the last two weeks after JP was making those bizarre proclamations.
And don’t give me “muh D’Arg said they were committed to JP in mid February”. He’s been asked at least twice since then and said no comment. They obviously are trying like hell to get rid of him and anyone with half a brain can clearly see that. Whether or not it happens remains to be seen but if they can’t ditch him then they need to get behind him for the upcoming season and help recruiting.

For someone who is willing tweet recruits directly to get them, you spend an odd amount of time turning around and selling them misery and despair. You should get a job selling coffins.

Calm down. Relax. Take deep breaths. Judge the off season as a whole. Life does not revolve around this program. I'm not saying you won't have a good idea of the roster until August...I'm just saying that players come and go until then. There were years past where Iona landed and dropped 3 or 4 players after July. Hell, one kid even died. Jimmy could land all his targets now and if, in the summer he has some transfers or someone gets injured or ineligible...people's view of the off season could change entirely. These things don't work themselves out on OUR schedule. It works out on theirs.

Projecting your fears on the board based on past disappointments won't help the recruiting situation so why do it? We're all in 'wait and see' mode. Throwing out negativity may be cathartic to you, but it doesn't really help anything. We just have to wait and see how this all plays out. Play some tiddlywinks or something while we wait for news.

I find this "looking in the window of a pet shop for just the right new puppy" activity you recruiting geeks are efforting to be both comical and sobering at the same time. Let's say he lands 2 or 3 of his so-called "targets" - great, welcome to Siena, go get a practice uni and I'll see you in September...almost all recruits evolve from "prime target" to "landed a good kid" to "kid is a project" to "maybe he can get a few minutes until he screws up" and then back to practice eval ... not seeing a major win change just with addition by subtraction...
Here's the question/dilemma - what makes any of you think So-so's coaching style/abilities will change from his "happy to be at or near 0.500" habits...do you think he has the X's and O'x smarts to revamp the vaunted Siena offense? I don't recall one game this past season where anyone made any "nice adjustment" coach comments and certainly there were no accolades presented for his scouting/game plan "efforts" - it was, pure and simple - same old, same old So-so, let's watch 'em practice and decide our next starting lineup...
