We will play it by ear- if Jimbo is brought back, there will be some changes to posts, no sense in bitching for next year. After all it won't be all jimmy's fault it will be Siena's and many of you will not be coming back as season ticket holders anyway. You can't have it both ways, Siena has very little talent if massive changes are not made Siena is likely looking at another 12 win or less season. If changes are made Jimmy wont be doing it in a vacuum, it will be with Siena's blessing Remember while most of you are blaming Jimmy for Siena's demise, this has been a long time coming by the incompetent Siena athletic dept, by bad coaching hires and unbelievably bad head coach contracts. My guess and it's only a guess if Jimbo didn't have a long term contract he wouldn't have spent the entire off season last year on vacation- he would have been doing what he is doing this year scrambling for recruits. Anyway if Jimmy is back it will be a clear message from Siena - if you choose to no longer support the program, that will be your choice - why torture yourself by writing venomous posts on this board. And yes I agree the posts on this board will go way down- just like the turnstiles at the TUC will. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and see what happens. While I wouldn't like it if Jimmy comes back the sun will come up tomorrow, life will go on. Either you accept it or move on as a fan Great post Tony. Life will go on. If JP is back turnstiles will stop, donations decrease. Obviously potential players will look at the school and laugh. The admin should start feeling nervous if the above happens. Perhaps Siena should take something from Loyola Chicago, use the clergy for prayer and administrative affairs to properly trained people.

It's not going to be all that easy to simply "move on as a fan." Not when your love for the ball club began with an upset of Assuption College on a Sunday afternoon in Gibbons Gardens or watching Jack Mulvey abuse Warren Isaacs of Iona, dunking over him and grabbing every rebound in sight. How about the shot the wing player from Pitt buried at the end of the first game ever player in the Knick Arena and the Pitt coach saying he's never bringing his team back to Albany again. It is sad to see how this program has declined under the present stewardship from "Onions, double order" to one of the worst teams in D I. I guess driving six hours round trip on a work night to see us play a Marist or Canisius or meeting up with other crazies in Richmond or Milwaukee qualifies a person, not simple as an loyal alum but an addict, and you know how difficult it is to overcome an addiction.

Just wait it out — either a miracle will happen or Siena will be able to hire a better coach than it would have been able to.

Just wait it out — either a miracle will happen or Siena will be able to hire a better coach than it would have been able to. Yup I agree with that. No sense in bitching anymore. Just hope for the best. I do think Siena needs to make it official with their commitment to the HC for next year. I will try and stay positive - that's all we can do. And I agree I'd rather JP stay for one more year and we get a home-run with the next coach then making a change now and getting another bad one which would cripple the program forever. However I think within the next year Siena needs a change in the AD office. This board though has nothing to do with recruits coming or not coming - that’s more deflection.

I hear you Doukas, I dont got that far back, but I go back a way- as a tenager I was at game when Gary Holle led D2 Siena team upset D1 Canisius and larry Fogle. Went to the marist game when Foxes had rick Smitts. So yes I understand it hard to let go, it's done gradually, I've been a die hard fan traveled all over east coast watching Saints, was in Tampa for Saints historic beat down of vanderbilt, attended all the NIT games under Deane. My point is we dont control what Siena does. If Jimmy is brought back either support team or you dont, while this board is ok for occasional "venting" its no fun to read all venom and anger. You can tone down your fandom until Jimbo is gone, let go entirely etc, bottom line is "it is what it is". Not much debate left Siena is currently one of the weakest programs not only in MAAC but in D1- how Siena chooses to address that is up to college. How many times can we say Jimmy vacations too much, is a lousy coach , runs too many players off- I think all of that is undeniable( even the Jimmy sack polishers like HJ and Papi would agree) - its how the college responds that matters. While I have no inside knowledge how school will respond, because of Jimmy's contract College may very well choose to do nothing and "ride" it out. Just be prepared to accept that. School is aware how bad the program is ( and not much better on woman's side)

They had a great year, (if only the mens team would have fared as well) despite some injuries. The women's program is going in the opposite direction of the mens. Amen to that.

While I agree women had a good year this year-Remains to be seen if Ali can follow it up, Ali has overall losing record- posted losing seasons 4 of her 6 years here. Has never finished better than 3rd in MAAC - has 4 years in bottom half of MAAC- She has never had back to back winning seasons. The women's program overall only has like 3 winning seasons in last 15 or more seasons- so no the woman's side is not getting it done. Ali has a lot to prove program is going in right direction - one 3rd place MAAC finish isnt cutting it

Does it impact recruiting, maybe to a lesser degree. I’m pretty sure handlers, AAU / HS coaches, location, fit (meshing with current team/staff), culture, playing time and family weigh more heavily when a player is making his final decision. Given the onslaught of recent rumors over the past couple of weeks, and given Patsos is finally targeting a few kids that look like they could have a positive impact shouldn’t the College step up at this point and clearly state the rumors are just that, and issue another vote of confidence. Appears to me by remaining silent and indicating “no comment” when asked has more of a negative impact at this point...issuing a vote of affirmation would clearly negate anything being said here!

Speaking for myself, and I'm sure it's the same for many others that are unhappy with the coaching situation, my plan to step away physically and financially in no way means I wont be watching every game, following the news and this board and likely having feelings about things now and then. Been a fan way too long to just give that up.

Guilty as charged - Siena fan ... I too have been given a life sentence w no chance for parole ... I’ll be back at the TUC this Fall ... addictions are tough to overcome

BTW, Malachi DeSouzas (Siena recruit, UA signee) HS coach posted on the MAAC board that the negative posting on THIS board definitely influenced him into removing Siena as a college option. #keepbeatingourselvesdown
