It comes down to coaching and decision making surrounding the coaching. We had everything in place to be just as successful. Somehow we ignored past performances, twice, and doubled down in the case of patsos. All it takes is a few bad decisions.

What else can you say! We didn’t capitalize on our success like a Davidson. Poor management / administrative decisions. Water under the bridge, time to correct and move on and see if we can recapture some of the spark. Until then Fran’s run was just a flash in the pan.

Siena, not Davidson, would be in the A10 if not for the morons who run Siena. #facts

Arrogant complacency in a nutshell...in case D'Arg hasn't noted, they still spelled Siena with two "n's" when Fran was here - Tennessee State is the one I recall - big lit sign advertising the game "Home vs Sienna"

Main difference is that McKillop has stayed for 29 seasons at Davidson. Turned down many other opportunities. If Fran was still at Siena, do you think they might be a bit better?

Other small mids (3-5k students) say a Butler or Xavier survive coaching changes. McKillop is an extremely important factor (I’m not dismissing it in anyway) but not the only one. Successful programs have a winning “culture” and what they do is repeatable.

Rewind about 10 years. Siena and Davidson Discuss. Its simple. No one ever wanted McKillop so he stayed there for 29 years (HUMILIATING he only makes $400K after 29 years at that school, and its in the A-10) A BCS school wanted Fran and it forced us to try and repeat something that is rare, and duplicate it for a generally unrealistic fanbase.

Yeah very unrealistic to expect better than a .426 win percentage and zero NCAA/NIT bids in the last 8 years.

Is it really a “flash in the pan” when it happens three years in a row? And when they were within thirty seconds of making it four in a row?
