For those who don't think coaching is important, take a look at Quinnipiac and in particular Cameron Young.
As a JUCO transfer in 2016, Young played a total of 8 minutes in 8 games and scored no points.
With both of the starting guards, Dixon and Kiss, having transferred, all Young did this year was score 581 points, averaging 18.9 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 2.9 APG. I have to think Dunleavey gets some credit for that remarkable transformation.

I’d have to look at last years roster to see who came off the bench last year ahead of him to see if he was not correctly utilized by the former staff. Certainly he can play and has earned his time and rewarded the coach and his team for their support.

Unfortunately, I think there might be more. I think the kids are playing hard and to the best of thier ability. I’m not going to single any one player out but overall as a team we lack athleticism speed & hops. Sorry but no coach can overcome that... we have a few players that are capable of playing at this level but as starters they’re few and far between. You add a coach who spends half the game with his back to the floor and more time vacation planning than game planning or recruiting you get exactly what got ... 8 - 24 season. A better coach might eek out a few more wins, maybe we go 13 - 19 still not good enough. The few parts we have I believe could very easily go, why stick around for another year of this crap. Kids are smart they know what they have running the show ....

I think a better coach would have managed this group (including nico) to a better than .500 finish and possible minor tourney bid. Still not what we are looking for but a young group.

Maybe we can bring in Becker?? 😅 Not sure why he would leave UVM theyre loaded and I expect Becker’s next move would be up the ladder. Don’t get me wrong I’ve floated his name over the years many times and would love to have him here ... I just think his next move is up.

I wonder how much Siena would be able to offer.

I think the question would be better phrased "What do you think it would take to get him?" - leaving Burlington and its confines to come fix an 8 year mess with a questionable number of actual scholarship slots available would be a challenge without throwing in us nuts in the fan base. Lots of pressure and he's in an absolute comfort zone where he is...

A lot of people gave Jimmy credit for the difference in Bisping from his freshman to sophomore year.....

A lot of people gave Jimmy credit for the difference in Bisping from his freshman to sophomore year..... True but one of the things that held him back nis freshman year was the reluctance on the part of the PW to use him more. Tobin was constantly screaming for him to get minutes, etc. So-so saw what he had and used him and then rode him like an old swayback all the way to the best bought Championship Trophy in Siena's trophy case...

Patsos verbally abused Brett every chance he got. Brett wasn't going anywhere his girlfriend (now wife) was here. Both Brett and Ryan Oliver found their way to become peices that were too valuable to run off.
