Yes the recruiting was bad it’s the icing on the cake. He has more problems than just recruiting—- he was never a good enough choice for Siena, not sure why some people still don’t get that. YUP.........again, while he was coaching at Loyola (with his crazy antics), what Siena fan said to themselves “man, I wish Patsos was our coach”...................no one, that’s the answer..................Patsos NEVER EVER embraced the expectations, always had excuses, league is tough, non-league schedule is tough, team is young, only about March, ............in his 5 yrs here, he has lost 18, 20, 17 & 24 games..................he thinks even being ,500 is acceptable, sorry JP, that should be a DOWN season at Siena...........and waaaaaayyyyyyyyy too much is being credited to him for putting the blame on himself with comments last night, that is SUPPOSED to happen, it is expected, much like the players PLAYING HARD.......those good people are EXPECTIONS, why does anyone get applauded for something you should be doing in your job (do you all get credit at work for doing the basic of things everyday, of course you don’t........................the time for him to go is NOW, or things will very ugly next year.......

Had to step away from the board last night - afraid a serious case of road rage would have controlled my posts. I feel very badly for ALL of the kids on the "team" - so-so's malfeasance put them on the big stage woefully unprepared - they are not as bad as they look collectively - hard to imagine what each of them must be feeling - anger, frustration, questioning their own judgment, questioning their future (both in terms of basketball and academics), questioning their own abilities. They each put their trust in so-so, buying into his initial and continued bs. They each had to endure his spittle reinforced tirades shaming them in front of teammates, fellow students, fans,...
We've assigned the nickname so-so. Time to recognize what he really represents. He is, pure and simple, a human neutron bomb and our, once proud Program, has been the target. Neutron bombs remove people while leaving infrastructure intact - he's a walking/talking weapon of mass destruction. Time to send him packing, AND I'M 100% SURE HE IS ALREADY PACKED.........

Right. He’s saying shoot for two out of four because he thinks he has done that with the two cbi seasons (would need another good season next year). These are the comments of someone expecting to be back. I hope someone at Siena realizes that the coach is everything in college basketball—- you can’t hire a coach that one one 1 championship in 18 tries in your same conference (reg and post) and you can’t hire a coach that was previously fired in your same conference and expect those coaches to meet Siena expectations. College basketball just doesn’t work that way. Now if they do fire him now hope they also don’t cheap out on the next hire. We need to go big this time. Otherwise just shut down the program for a few years (let the ad or some boosters run it) and go big then. If the program is already dead so be it nothing will be gained by locking in a $200k coach the next four years.

What truth? He should’ve said, I take complete responsibility for this season.... not blaming the recruits. They did what he told them to do! Did he tell them to suck? Miss shot after shot? Turn the ball over? Foul? Not rebound? No but he’s sure as hell responsible for recruiting, offering, signing and coaching the entire roster that’s shown repeatedly that they are not athletic enough, prepared well enough or good enough to win at this level of play! Incompetency at its finest. Stop with the BS it starts and ends with coach. btw attendance last night maybe 2000 (that’s a generous estimate), pitiful just pitiful & just a glimpse of things to come next year.

Turn the ball over? Foul? Not rebound? I don't know. What was the 5 year plan? Was it no seniors on the roster and a 24 loss season? Or is it all of a sudden recruiting better players. As he said, that's on him. Now lets hear your excuses for him. Or do you think the buck stops at the student assistants?

I believe he is paid more than most professors. Can you imagine if most of the students flunked and he said you brought in students that shouldn't be here? I suspect that professor would be gone. By the way $200,000 is not a bad salary. Some of you talk about it like it is chump change. It is sad where College athletics has gone in this country across the board. Just think JP is the face of Siena. Here's a man who says it's all on him and then denigrates the quality of the player. He just uses it's all on him to show his laughable humility.

I've said this for years mike60; it befuddles me that the coaches make more than the surgeon who removes (god forbid) your family member's tumor.

I’m no Jimmy fan, and I certainly don’t feel “sorry” for him, he did this to himself with really a super weak “effort” recruiting since he has been here. But I do have empathy for the man. I imagine he feels terrible, his coaching career is on the line- and yeah he is 100% right it’s on him. He is also 100% right we do have a team full of kids either not ready for D1 or D1 role players. I didn’t take it as throwing kids under the bus. It goes without saying whether the kid is a roll player of not ready, it’s not their fault, its Jimmy’s fault and in one of the few times in his career he has taken responsibility. You think it’s easy to step up to microphone and the world and say yeah it’s my fault? I know some of you don’t want to hear the truth- that somehow it’s all Jimmy’s fault as sucky coach- truth is we have very little talent- sorry if that bothers you, but it’s the truth Getting back to game- Siena lack of team speed and talent was on full display last night. Crowd was sparse and the way Quinny started game took the Siena fans that were there right out of the game. Jimmy has definitely lost confidence of Siena fans. Not sure how Siena can possible bring Jimmy back to the train wreck of a program he has run the last 5 years. Sad state the program has fallen to My God Tony....your empathy should be for the thousands of fans that have supported team physically, financially and yes emotionally...not for a liar...a self centered egotist and a manipulative SOB...

Unfortunately that is where we are at. We can certainly choose to get out of the game for moral purposes but if we want to compete we have to pay the market rate. The idea is that by striving for excellence you improve the overall image of the college, attract better students, improve academic opportunities and set an example and provide a source of pride for the community. Pro athletes make more too, pretty much the same concept. About the only thing you can do is redistribute the wealth from the coaches to the student-athlete but I’m not convinced that’s the answer either.

Really need to step back and review the whole program. Can’t blame the kids, a coach offers them a D1 scholarship above their level face who wouldn’t take it JP is basically lazy, a slob, when hiring you look at how that person takes car of th selves a pointer how they will take care of you Poor recruiter, however he did state s feral times during the early days he couldn’t get kids into the school, but yet Vt. And UA did, Poor coaching, no game plan, poor game management, why the contract extensions who know Finally if it’s not working fix it, that’s on the admin and BOT. They were just as lazy and complacent. They deserve as much if not more of the blame. You have a mission statement stuck by it. School would be much further ahead, all the gains with St Fran are gone by inept management.

. Give him credit for telling the truth. All I ever hear out here is how bad the talent level is on this team. IT IS!! HES RIGHT! Stop being so PC and expecting some lame attempt at another reason for this terrible season. He needs to get better players. Anyone doesn't agreee with that doesn't understand the game. They did what he told them to do! He told them to make every shot they took....

They did what he told them to do! He told them to make every shot they took.... Sadly, very sadly, that's about the extent of his coaching acumen...

Seems like an applicable quote from our favorite Maryland star. That makes too much sense for this board to understand.
